lemmingllama
FormatFactory will convert to mini-mkv for you. Drag and drop the files you want converted. Click all to mkv then hit settings. There will be a bar that will drop down. Select the resolution you want. Then click convert and presto it will work

vampire-queen
So I'm looking for something that will turn my huge mkv files into minis. I tried using minicoder and it worked fine for like 3 files then it gave me an error message.Anyone know of a good alternate? and if at all possible throw in intrusions to use it.Thanks! all posts are appreciated =D
Koby
No matter what you do it will lower quality. If you don't care about quality then alright...Some people use RealAnime Converter, but I've never bothered with trying this out because mini-encodes are retarded. ragnawind
Virtually any program can make mini-encodes. You just need to lower the bitrate, though, as Koby says, the quality is lowered. Usually, the bitrate is between 1200 and 2000 or more on normal encodes. Small encodes are around 200 (awful, but still watchable quality) and 450 (usually decent quality, but not as good as the normal size encodes). You can, however make them look better, but it requires the use of filters, which most mini-encoders don't use.

Xanodus
I used to use Handbreak, but then I switched to Freemake Video Conveter. It allows me to convert multiple videos into whatever format I want. What about you guys?
lemmingllama
I use Formatfactory for most of my converts, and for ipod quality I programmed my own thing that utilises handbrake. Just drag and drop for both, nice and easy!!!
Shinato
I only generally convert to i-pod for which I use Videora. Best converter I think because it has really basic steps for newcomers.

McLEMUR
Freedvdsoft converter. I second that. www.dvdvideosoft.com/It is a pretty good software that allows you to do multipliable things like all kinds of YouTube conversions, presets for different mobile platforms like iSystems, Android and Net books, etc. And of course some simple editing.
