Chapter 12 : Plan In Action – II

Indy, i'm in position. Over.”, came Random's voice over the phone.

Indy sighed. “For crying out loud, Random. We're using cell phone. You don't have to say over at the end of every fricking sentence.”

Roger. Over.

Just can't be helped, i guess. Indy shook his head.

“Koby, what's your situation?”, Indy spoke.

“I got Mae handling my end. We should be done in 15 minutes.”

Mae is helping out. I wonder if I can trust her. If Shade can turn traitor, so can everyone else ...

“Allright Koby. Keep it up.”

In the end, it'll all come down to Kazu and Razor.

He looked out the window. Shade was still in P.E. class.

It'll all be over soon.

---------------------------

“Hey Shade. I need to talk to you.”, Random came running over to Shade. “It's Indy. He's gone nuts, saying that you're a killer and all. I don't buy any of it and he's planning a trap for you, so be safe just in case.”

Shade smiled. “Thanks for the info, dude. I dunno where Indy gets these crazy ideas. I'll be sure to watch out.”

He went inside the building.

As soon as he had left, Random let out a sigh of relief.

“This is Random. Target is on the move. Over.”

For the last freaking time, this is not bloody Counter-Strike!!!”, Indy's voice came.

“Yeah yeah, whatever. Over.”

---------------------------

Koby saw Shade come into the building and confronted him.

“Hey Shade. The coach is asking for you in the basketball court. Something about your grades being low.”

Shade looked at him amusingly. “Is that so? You sure it's not just one of Indy's stupid 'traps'? Good luck getting any of them to work.”

Koby frowned. “What are you talking about? This is serious. Get your ass to the court NOW!”

Shade winced. “Fine fine. I'll entertain that little bozo. It's not like he can trap me anyways.”

as he turned the corner, Koby took out his mobile.

“Yeah Mae. He's on his way ...”

---------------------------

... give him a warm greeting.” Koby's voice came over the phone.

“Got it.”, Mae said and hung up as she helped Oby complete the final preparations.

“Tell me something,” she said. “Why don't we just confront Shade instead of all this elaborate planning?”

Oby shrugged. “Indy's idea. I'll be damned if I ever figure out what goes on in his sneaky little mind. But, he's the one who accused Shade so ...”

“Shhh ...”, Mae hissed. “He's almost here.”

They quickly moved into position.

---------------------------

Indy stood in the middle of the court, reading a manga.

“So, you're here, eh?”, he said, not looking up.

“Yup. I'm here. So why don't you drop the charade and unleash your BIG TRAP!”

“How about YOU drop the act? I know you were planning on killing me today.”

Shade frowned.

“I have no intention of killing you. Why are you going around school bad-mouthing me?”

Indy lost his cool.

“STOP LYING, YOU BASTARD!!!! I KNOW EXACTLY WHAT YOU ARE!!! A GOD DAMNED MONSTER!!!!”, he yelled and pressed a button.

Above Shade, a pot of hot boiling water came crashing down from the higher seats, but Shade was ready for it and dodged it easily.

“Like I said, it'll be a cold day in hell before i get caught in one of YOUR traps.”, he snickered.

Indy grinned.

“Who said THAT was the trap?”

Behind Shade, Oby and Mae leapt out of their positions, Mae brandishing her hammer, Oby with a club, looking like a pair of ferocious female vikings.

Within minutes, Shade had beaten them down.

“Like i said”, he said, turning around. “A COLD DAY IN HELL ...”

Indy sprayed him in the face with a bottle of Mace.

“ARGHHH!!!!!!!!”, Shade yelled clutching his eyes.

“Guess what.”, Indy said. “The weather forecast just came. It's snowing like there's no end down there.”

“MY EYES!!!!!”, Shade yelled.

WHAM!!!

Kazu and Razor came running in, holding an iron rod at either end and rammed it into Shade's forehead.

“Whoa!”, Kazu said. “Just how much does he weigh?”

“He ... he took down ... Mae AND Oby ...”, Razor stuttered.

“They'll be fine. Let's tie him up for now ... with iron”

Indy smiled to himself.

When alerting an enemy about a plan, keep it simple.

The backup plans being even simpler.

That is the key to victory.

Chapter 13 : Interrogation

“Are you sure we haven't gone a bit too overboard?”, Shazi asked.

Indy shook his head. “No. In fact, I'm wondering if we should add a few more layers.”

They had tied Shade to an iron chair bolted to the ground, with lots of handcuffs, straight jackets and rope.

The rope isn't gonna be a bit effective when he wakes up.

At that moment, Shade woke up and started squirming around, instantly breaking the rope. Only the handcuffs were able to keep him in hold.

“AHHH!!!”, Shazi jumped back. “Just what is this guy made of?”

“Listen up Shade. You're gonna tell me everything, understood? Why you're trying to kill me? Who told you to do so? ... Everything! START TALKING.”

he kicked Shade' skull.

Shade looked back at him blankly.

“I don't know what you're talking about. I have no idea.”

Indy swore. The bastard was trying to play the innocent puppy.

He ushered Shazi out of the room and picked up the baseball bat that was lying at the corner.

He brought it down with full force over Shade's head.

WHAM!!!!!

“One more time,”, Indy asked. “WHO SENT YOU?”

Shade started laughing hysterically.

“I ... I don't know ... Please, stop tickling me ... HA ... HA ... HAHAHAHA.”

Indy took deep breaths.

He was trying to provoke him. Trying to get him to do something stupid.

Indy brought the bat down once again and crushed Shade's hand.

CRACKK!!!

The sound of fingers breaking echoed across the room.

Shade started moaning.

“No ... no. Get away from me. Don't ... stop it. LEAVE ME ALONE!!!!!!”

he started squirming around again.

Indy sighed. He would have to get a lot more rougher.

Maybe I should use the taser ...

The door crashed open and Koby appeared, fire in his eyes.

“Just what do yout think you're doing? We're supposed to be helping him, not beating him to a pulp.”

Indy sighed.

“Fine, you handle him. I'm outta here anyways.”

as he closed the door behind him, he heard one final word from Shade .

“Ham ... sters”

Indy's blood froze. He opened the door and noticed a pair of hole marks on Shade's neck.

His eyes widened.

I know who it is now! I know who sent Shade after me!

Chapter 14 : Prelude To The Truth

Indy walked slowly, taking his time. He was in no hurry.

Unless Roger comes walking through with a horde of hamsters.

Indy looked behind him, just in case.

Yup, no hamsters in sight. Not a single rodent ...

Hang on. Am i seriously being afraid of HAMSTERS?

What the hell is wrong with me?

He went up to the door and knocked. It was time to face the enemy.

He waited for two minutes, then the door opened, revealing ...

Chapter 15 : The Truth Behind It All – Part 1

... EMPATHY!

She stood in the doorway, smiling at Indy. “What's the matter, Mae with her hammer again?”

Indy returned the smile, covering up his bruises.

“Nah, just a random fight. I thought it best to get it looked at in case of an infection.”

Emp nodded. “Sure, come on in.”

Indy moved into the hospital wing and pulled out the gun he had swiped from Shade when no one was looking.

Emp closed the door and turned around, to find herself staring down it's barrel.

“What's THIS about, Indy?”, she asked nervously. “And where in God's name did you get that?”

Indy sighed.

“Listen, Emp. We've known each other a long time now. Don't shit with me. I saw the hole marks on Shade's neck.

A crazy-twilight fan would have thought they came from vampires. I know better.

You gave Shade TWO FRIGGING INJECTIONS IN THE NECK!”

His voice grew harsh.

“I'm in a REALLY bad mood right now. So, just tell me everything you know ... i don't wanna hurt you like I did Shade.”

Empathy's face remained expressionless.

“I'm afraid I don't know what you're talking about. Maybe if you saw the school psychiatrist ...”

Indy fired the gun at her feet. The silencer was attached so all he heard was a tiny PIITTT! sound.

“Next one will be in your stomach. Then, i'll leave you to die from the blood loss.”

Empathy sighed, admitting defeat.

“Fine, I'll tell you. But, you'll need to see something first ...”

she got up slowly.

“Remember”, Indy said behind her. “I've got a gun trained on your back, and i'm in no mood to be playing around.”

Empathy nodded and moved to the bathroom door.

THERE'S A BATHROOM IN HERE?!!! HOW COME I NEVER NOTICED IT????

Indy followed her.

“It's not a bathroom. It's a storage area ...”

“Storage area for what?”

Indy tried to get a better look inside.

Empathy turned on the lights and Indy saw it. saw it with shock in his eyes.

GOOD GOD ON EARTH! WHAT THE HELL IS THIS ....
