Flash forward to the present and the city has not seen a giant in over 100 years. Teenage boy Eren and his foster sister Mikasa witness something horrific as the city walls are destroyed by a super giant that appears out of thin air. 2. Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World- aka Re:ZERO kara Hajimeru Isekai Seikatsu MAL Synopsis When Subaru Natsuki leaves the convenience store, the last thing he expects is to be wrenched from his everyday life and dropped into a fantasy world. Things aren't looking good for the bewildered teenager, however: not long after his arrival, he is attacked by some thugs; armed with only a bag of groceries and a now useless cell phone, he is quickly beaten to a pulp. Fortunately, a mysterious beauty named Satella, in hot pursuit after the one who stole her insignia, happens upon Subaru and saves him. In order to thank the honest and kindhearted girl, Subaru offers to help in her search, and later that night, he even finds the whereabouts of that which she seeks. But unbeknownst to them, a much darker force stalks the pair from the shadows, and just minutes after locating the insignia, Subaru and Satella are brutally murdered. However, Subaru immediately reawakens to a familiar scene—confronted by the same group of thugs, meeting Satella all over again—the enigma deepens as history inexplicably repeats itself. Hi guys, just wondering if anyone is watching ReZero? It's my favourite anime of the season and really feels like a throwback to 2006/7 in terms of pacing, episode length and general quality. Thoughts?

  5. At the Code Geass 10th anniversary event on Sunday, a sequel to Code Geass: Hangyaku no Lelouch has been announced. It will be titled Code Geass: Fukkatsu no Lelouch (Code Geass: Lelouch of the Revival) and is set 3 years after the ending of R2. No news on what the plot will be or when it will air but it's clear that Lelouch will be involved, something that answers a lot of fan questions about R2's ending. Personally, I am very excited, although I'm also wary. As a CG fanboy, I'm delighted we're finally getting more of the story but I am also worried that it could ruin what was a pretty great ending. What do you guys think? Comment below! In addition, a three-part compilation film series of the previous Code Geass anime has been planned for January 2017. The voices will be redubbed for the movies, which will also include new scenes. Code Geass: Hangyaku no Lelouch is an original anime series produced by Sunrise, directed by Gorou Taniguchi with original character designs by manga artist group CLAMP, which aired in 25 episodes between October 2006 and July 2007. A sequel titled Code Geass: Hangyaku no Lelouch R2 was subsequently developed due to the immense popularity of the first season, also airing in 25 episodes between April 2008 and September 2008. An OVA Code Geass: Nunnally in Wonderland was released in July 2012. A spin-off movie series titled Boukoku no Akito was announced in April 2010, which screened in 5 parts from July 2012 to February 2016. The series was initially licensed by Bandai Entertainment for North American distribution before FUNimation re-licensed it in August 2013.

    91 Days

As a massive fan of Prohibition era and gangster drama, I'm incredibly excited for this show. I'm an episode behind but I've enjoyed it so far, though it is a bit confusing to keep track of the large cast of characters. I'm hoping it gathers pace once everything is properly introduced.

    Berserk (2016)

Since I'm a Berserk fan, I really want to give this a try. Its received a lot of hate on the internet, mostly because of animation, so it's difficult to judge how good it is. Also, I kinda avoided reading everyone's comments so I don't get spoiled xD. Anyway, would you guys recommend? I can deal with poor/dodgy art, I'm more concerned with whether it lives up to the Berserk name in terms of storytelling.

Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World-

Personally, I actually liked that Subaru rejected Rem straight away. It's something he'd do and its in keeping with his character. She was incredibly honest with him and he replied with equal sincerity. Its the part of him that Rem clearly loves and I think that if he'd avoided answering her confession then it would've upset her even more. With that out of the way I'm hoping we finally start moving past Subaru's weakness. I really enjoy the show but I feel as if they've been dragging out the 'Subaru is useless and needs to accept it' storyline for far too long. Still probably one of the best shows of the year however!

Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World-

The only issue I have is that Subaru can be over the top, a bit too much. I like him but its a bit much. Apart from that, I'm pretty impressed. There's not been much great anime for me lately.

Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World-

Do you think so? I've heard good things about Kabaneri and Boku no Hero. Not watched them mind. Im really looking forward to this arc with Felt, really liked her character before. I agree on the characters. I actually want Subaru to get with Rem over Emilia haha. I've got my eye on the Knight. He's suspicious

    Btooom! Review

‘The new Hunger Games!’ they said. ‘The modern Battle Royale!’ they said. ‘If you liked Sword Art Online, you’ll love this!’ Etcetera, etcetera. Being a huge fan of the aforementioned media, you can imagine my excitement when I first came across Btooom!. Was my excitement justified? It had a significant amount of hype, normal people being dropped onto a mysterious island with a bag of bombs and told to fight for survival? I was pumped! Ultimately, I was let down. Let me stress, Btooom! isn’t a bad show, it's decent, in fact. However, with all the hype, I just expected a much better anime than the one we got. Let’s break it down; The plot of Btooom! can be summed up pretty simply. Our protagonist, Ryo Sakamoto, wakes up on a mysterious island with a huge hole in his memory. After being attacked by a man armed with bombs, in a manner that is very similar to the online game Btooom!, he quickly realises he is in a real life version of the game that he is so proficient at. After that, we follow his life on the island, seeing if he can use his vast online skills when faced by the real situation. Like I said, the plot isn’t all that complicated, but there is huge potential in it. Potential that, in my opinion, is wasted. This series only has 12 episodes and it’s a classic case of an anime having to rush it’s pacing in order to cover enough of the manga. 12 more episodes and this show would’ve been a lot better. Pacing is the major issue, undoubtedly. Too slow at the beginning, Ryo took too long to accept his situation, and too fast towards the end. Another major theme of the plot was the idea that ‘people are awful’. It began to ask us questions about the true nature of humans, especially with the idea that each person on the island was sent there by a person that they’d hurt. This was undoubtedly one of the best aspects of the show, I loved it! But too much of a good thing and it gets boring and guess what happened! (it got boring) The character’s really drive this anime, as opposed to the basic plot. They’re varied and interesting, which makes it a shame that only Sakamoto and Himiko, the main female character, experience real development. The backstories are interesting in the main and the battles and subsequent clashes of values are the high points of Btooom!. Again, the show disappoints as the various antagonists and side characters are dispatched quickly and we are treated to more scenes of Himiko and Sakamoto awkwardly interacting. It’s no Katniss and Peeta that’s for sure. The backgrounds and character designs are nicely done. The art is solid, with the island’s features well animated and each character standing out. Truthfully, I liked the flashback scenes of Japan, nice animating there! The sound too, I have no major complaints. Opening is a bit generic but it fits and May’n singing the ED! Plus points! Unfortunately, like the rest of the show both things didn’t really stand out from the crowd and are good as opposed to groundbreaking. Mindless action is the best way to describe the events of the show, which is a real shame considering the potential the plot has. As someone who likes to be challenged or at least surprised by my action anime, Btooom! is a disappointment. If you have some spare time and want to watch something light and straightforward, this is for you. If you want to watch something fresh, unique and gripping, there are plenty of better shows out there. Maybe my expectations were too high but this show can be best summed up in one word. Boring. Story 5/10Characters 6/10Art 8/10 Sound 7/10 ATTACK Rating: ** ½ (Boring)

    Anime ABC

The rules are simple you have to post the name of an anime following the order A to Z. When you arrive to Z start with and anime with A and so on. A Air Gear

    Akame ga Kill!

Hmm to be honest, I hadn't picked up that it was going the anime only route. The plot still seems coherent and the story hasnt slowed down or anything. I still enjoy it so I hope it carries on this way. Am I the only one who sees an Esdeath turn? xD

    Fall 2014 Anime Lineup

Agree on Bahamut no Genesis, it's really good, reminds me a bit of Cowboy Bebop, bounty hunters are cool haha. Madan No Ou is a definite sleeper, barely anybody seems to be watching it. On that note, Akatsuki no Yona is a definite sleeper, throwback to Twelve Kingdoms type show with fantasy, politics, war etc, very good show, recommend it to all. And I have to confess, I disliked Gundam, actually only watched 1 episode. Oh and guilty pleasure of the season is Cross Ange. Ecchi and Mobile suits and dragons. Mindless fun xD

    Fall 2014 Anime Lineup

I was literally about to post to say this exact thing. Shigatsu is amazing, highlight of the season for me so far. Kiseijuu is also awesome. Shingeki no Bahamut no Genesis and Madan no Ou to Vanadis are both good shows too.

    Akame ga Kill!

Personally, I enjoy some of the light-hearted moments, it's part of the shows appeal for me. I like how the characters, in the main, aren't black and white. They aren't clearly good or evil, which is actually a theme that anime doesn't tend to cover, at least not in my experience. Overall thought, I love the series. I care about the characters, it's consistently entertaining and I love the plot. I don't know about you guys, but this weirdly reminds me of Game of Thrones and the epic fantasy genre in general. It feels like a homage and I fricking love it.

    Aldnoah Zero

Yeah, I agree. Looking back on it, it's not memorable. It's flashy, exciting and entertaining but there's not much substance to it. Meh, still fun.

    Akame ga Kill!

Really glad that this was given 24 episodes. Its really entertaining. Not perfect but I do like the large cast and Tatsumis growth. Although some of the deaths are quite random!
