1) Genre of the anime

2) The plot and it's level of complexity

3) Characters and their development

4) Animation quality

i usually look at the genre, the rating and Characters design, then i watch the first 2 episodes.

if i like it, i'll download the rest episodes and watch it

Watch AMVs from many series. See an interesting scene, find out what anime it is, watch.

Or read the TvTropes.org page.

Wouldn't recommend watching AMV's as some of them contain spoilers one of the AMV's i watched spoiled the ending of one of my animes, it basically just slammed the ending in my face. Now i never watch AMV's unless i'm up to date with that anime or have completed it.

How do I choose a good anime? Well for me, I usally read about it and watch the first episode. And if I like it, I watch it. Then I sometimes chose a genre that I am interested in and check out what anime is under its listing.

Well now a days I go by what people reccommend or popular animes at this time. Or as im crusing through out this site I may come across some pictures or people talking about an anime, if it sounds or looks interesting I will watch it.

I'll suggest what I do, normaly I read the description first then look at what its classed as, if it sounds interesting I download an episode and take a look at it. If its interesting i'll slowly download more but if not I leave it at that.

To be honest, I just look at the cover. I have made the experience that an artfully and beautifully made cover often reflects the quality of the anime.

I read what it's about, take a look at the hot guy- O////O I..I mean the characters on the picture, and then I see how poular it is (not necassarily meaning I won't watch it). It's good though because all the animes I picked turned out to be good ones

First off I check and see which station is airing it. If it's airing on Adult Swim, chances are I'll check it out if the episode description looks interesting and then I'll watch the episode airing that night to get a first impression. That's one method by which I discover new anime to watch, and is how I came across and got interested in InuYasha, Death Note, Code Geass, Fullmetal Alchemist, Durarara!!, YuYu Hakusho, and Bleach to name a few. Otherwise, I browse around on the Internet and pay attention to the subject matter of any series that catches my eye within its description if available. That's how I discovered Higurashi no Naku koro ni and Elfen Lied.

I started mostly watching Sci-Fi the I watched Anime of ones I was reading. Now I Pick A Show at random watch 2 or 3 episodes and decide from there. Characteristics of main characters are importent to, If they Are unbalevabley anoying I find it hard to Watch but to each there own

Normally I'll read the description, if it seems interesting, I'll watch the first episode, and if I liked that, then I'll watch the second and then it basically continues from there until I'm finished or if I think it becomes too crap to bother watching any more.

I have a look on an anime website (which listed each anime for the coming season), read the summary, look for some AMV on youtube (I like to be spoiled ) and if my heart misses a beat while watching the AMV, I go for downloading ^^

I ether ask some ones opinion on it or look up reviews on anime I find interesting than go from there. I watch anime reviews done by people who watched the anime and uploaded it to youtube, but sometimes I just read comments of what other people think about it too.

browse through some online manga sites to see what is interesting by genre or just randomly google those that interest you and check for anime wiki links to see more info
