My 5 cents worth is there is a time and a place for everything. 1st April for example. I think I know you well enough that this is all in good fun, and that you wouldn't do anything malicious, but it is a bit unsettling nonetheless (especially when there is "no evidence of it" to the affected user). But yeah ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ - slept it off.

Thank you very very much for wishes! Can't tell you how much I appreciate them. Officially, more people wished me "Happy Birthday" on here than in IRL (this is including work and RL people that saw me that day).

@NeutralHatred - Strongly disagree. My 2700x worked right out of the box. I was even able to undervolt it some to save some more degrees being outputted (and its been fine since). The 2xxx series is also the second iteration of the Ryzen (Zen+) series so there are various improvements and as I'm sure you're aware, AMD isn't exactly new to the CPU market...

I personally wouldn't recommend swapping it for "some cheap HP laptop". @Tsu.Ku.Yo.Mi - As far as some more troubleshooting goes, you could also jump into the BIOS and reset it to factory defaults. Again being a prebuilt machine, one cant be sure of what's been changed during the build.

Yup, I saw your previous status about what you got. You mentioned this was a pre-built system, was Windows 10 already installed? I would start by re-installing that to be honest... can't really trust what another store does or how they install it or what installer they even use.

XMP is eXtreme Memory Profile which applies a preset overclock profile to your RAM so that you don't have to manually fiddle with it. Highly recommend to get the maximum speed out of what you bought. 

Advised to fresh install Windows (especially if it came from an Intel platform). That will make sure you get all the right chipset drives and other required drivers for proper functionality. 

Last two are to eliminate software problems (Windows) and try and troubleshoot which hardware is failing - i.e if the machine boots into an entirely different OS and is fine, then it's Windows. If it doesn't boot and also freezes, then it's more than likely hardware. 

Did you overclock anything? Did you enable XMP? Did you fresh install Windows? Freezing in safe mode would indicate some form of hardware lock vs software. Tried booting to any other bootable OS? Parted Magic maybe? Mini XP?

@ColdFlaMes - That would be Moby JJ - Winter is a raw encoder group that does 720p JPN encodes.

Hexchat for the free version. Works well and is clean.

mIRC if you want customisation (run scripts channels and all that wonderful jazz) - paid, but $20 for a life time licence isnt bad.
