I voted no. RPing is pointless to me and I don't want to deal with the community it may bring in.

I have to agree to some extent actually... RPing can be fun, and if done correctly, entertaining, but it has a notoriously bad fan base. Yaoi fans left and right, it's a damn mess...

I've never met anyone like that that roleplayed in the past. In fact some of my best online pals once roleplayed on the forum. Roleplayers usually tend to actually give more detail in the posts, and don't post short spam messages. In my personal experience, they have been higher quality in the postings of the forum when more people like that are around.

The only thing I can see from Clobclark statement is that he must be afraid that if roleplayers came back, then he'd have to up the quality of his posts to compete or something other, cause really there is nothing wrong with roleplayers and I seriously don't see it becoming anything big like it once was, I doubt it would get popular enough to have any effect on the community we currently have. Which currently we only have maybe 5-8 members who actually post quality posts to be honest. Most of everyone just posts as few words as possible and rarely give anything in response worth replying to or keeping threads alive.

This forum was originally started as a Roleplay forum. So practically all the original members roleplayed. It's because of them that the forum continued and eventually became what it is, except through the time many and most of them have either quit roleplaying or left the forum.

Struck a nerve eh, Koby? It's your choice in the end to bring it back or not, I just don't want it because I enjoy this forum and every other forum I have been to with RPing has been filled with a user-base that I don't like.

If you think it's going to up the quality of posts, go for it. I'm still voting no and am not going to participate.

I said to some extent. Good role players exist, and I don't doubt you've had some before. I just know far too many annoying role players. Mostly speaking about the Yaoi obsessed ones that go way over the top. Not sure if anyone else has seen the type...

Hrm, never seen roleplaying on a forum type arena before. I've only RPed (and still do) on a text based game. But if it works similarly I'd love to do it here. Although I'm not sure how the stories begin, what the rules are...like, the themes or whatever. If someone would take a moment to explain what it's like, I'd appreciate it!

well, why not set up an RP board as a trial. we can see how it does. if it doesn't do well, or starts attracting an unfavorable sort of people, then it can be closed down. but if it seems very active and gets a lot of positive attention, then it can stay.

and we can put up some rules, such as no yaoi. this IS a site where people as young as 13 may visit, so I would hope that male pornography is not present here, even in text format! >.<; we could make a rule that nothing more than shounen-ai is allowed. so that way, the people who are into boy x boy can still have their enjoyment, they simply cannot take the relationships further than what would be appropriate for a 13 year old.
