[Discussion] Yu-Gi-Oh! - Obelisk, Ra or Slifer?

The god cards are huge liabilities, their own effects are useful at the begging of their summon but the cost for their power is like a double edged sword minus obelisk. Obelisk is other wise just a really high level monster who's attack points don't fit his criteria as being a god card.

If I had my choice I'd pick slifer, he might as well be the weakest but for me building a deck around his power requirements is less stressful then having to give life points or having a set attack that isn't anything impressive to be called god like.

In my opinion they should have been released sooner because with today's speed play of swarming monsters with unfair spell/trap cards it makes the use of having them in any deck kinda pointless.

Obelisk decks work quite well and I see them fairly often. With all the cards that summon tokens or monsters that can special summon duplicates of themself along with the Spell card Double Summon and the Trap card Ultimate Offering you can normally get him out fairly rapidly. I once had summoned 3 Obelisks in less than 8 turns into the duel.

Ra is rather useless, and Slifer is just now being released so we'll see how it goes but I still feel Obelisk is the best in the TCG following their legal abilities.

If you summon Obelisk via Harden-Armed Dragon it makes Obelisk completely invincible to every single thing except for a monster with higher attack power (which with Obelisk out there every turn attacking shit it becomes fairly impossible to summon something higher (not to mention most decks can't top 4000 attack), and Obelisk usually wins the game in a matter of a turn or two unless stopped so they don't really have long to try and do something.

yeah I would have chosen obelisk but slifer was just the one I always liked since seen in the anime.

out of the 3, obelisk is the least useless but I don't duel online since the timing for me to click stuff on a lag is what sets me back and eventually is the cause of my losses. and I'm still noob at dueling since just getting back into the fad.

Slifer is definitely the one I would not want to meet. He can become way too powerful.

my favourite is Obelisk, just always loved the dude! Won a number of duels with it on DN too, find him better to use than Ra. Kinda wanna see a legal version of Slifer too though.

My piperxodia deck gave me the easiest answer.

I effect vieler your monster it no longer has an effect.without it's effect all but obelisk really get watered down.

Slifer would be the best of the 3 because its the hardest to use and also the strongest of 3. Don't you guys remember how Marik used it in Battle City?

Slifer has always been my fav "God Card", as well as the least one I would want to fight. Slifer with the Spell Infinite Cards"....Oh hell no. Against me, That's a big red flag for me.

I think Ra is the strongest but Slifer is my most favorite. It depends on what kind of situation you are in when you summon them.
