[Anime] Looking For a New Anime

I am currently looking for an anime that fits the mold of an J RPG game, young hero or hero starts off on a journey and slowly recruits his allies. I have seen Bleach and Naruto as well as alot of popular animes.

It sounds like you are looking for a longer sort of series. For a longer one, try Slayers, Lost Universe, Yu Yu Hakusho, or Hitman Reborn

Why not try Inuyasha? It kind of fits the ideas of a JRPG.

Description:

Higurashi Kagome, after being pulled down a well by a demon, finds herself in Feudal Japan, where she learns that a powerful jewel has been reborn inside her body. After the jewel shatters in an attempt to retrieve it from one of the many demons who was after its power, Kagome must join forces with the half-demon Inu Yasha (also after the jewel's power) to track down the shards of the jewel before its power falls into the wrong hands.

This anime is lengthy with 167 episodes 4 movies and another final chapter to finish the anime to be released hopefully sometime this year. It is a good watch!

As for other recommendations, seeing as you have watched a few mecha animes I might also recommend Gurren Lagann. It is a short 27 episodes anime if I remember correctly and it fits the style of the hero leaving his home for a better and greater adventure.

I can second Chrno Crusade, its a good one. And Inuyasha is good, its a typical shouen anime with lots of yelling, swords, magic, and monster killing.

Inuyasha is typically a female directed series, but it's one that males have no issue getting involved in as well. It's just even though a lot of it isn't filler, the show feels like 2/3 of it should be. It gets rather drawn out and repetitive. Inuyasha is 167 + 26 episodes, but it would probably have been able to fit as a 51 episode series and would have been better paced. Like I said though, it's still an enjoyable series, and I ended up buying the 7 season sets and the 4 movies and will likely buy Final Act when it comes out later this year.
