So far in Yugioh this year with the march 2011 ban list, we saw heavy storm banned, Goyo Guardian also banned, two of which i am happy to see gone for personal reasons. for the next upcoming ban list which cards do you think should be banned and why. same with limited and semi-limited.

personally I want monster reborn gone again, I really don't like it when people use my cards against me.http://www.yugioh-card.com/en/limited/ I looked it up and for september it list a new ban list, is this for real, giant trunade is banned, heavy storm is back? tell me what you think of this ban list.

Unless Destiny Draw is back at 2 with 3 Malicious, I don't believe in Konami's abilities to design a fair and healthy banlist with their internal R&D.

Also, they were cooler when the YCS were called the Shonen Jump.

-steps off of soap box-

Sorry, last time I played YGO, I could play three Emergency Teleports. lol

Personally I like the ban list. Always liked Heavy Storm better than Giant Trunade personally as I don't feel Trunade has that same punch even though it does have its own uses in its own right. Formula Synchron and Hyper Librarian are obvious can't say I'm surprised about those getting limited. Really surprised that Call of the Haunted is now semi-limited with Monster Reborn still sticking around at limited, figured they would've given it the axe if they ever did increase it to two. Personally I never really cared for Dark Hole and with cards like Lightning Vortex and Black Rose Dragon already in the format I don't see why it should've ever come back. A bit surprised about Envoy of the Beginning returning but I suppose with cards like Imperial Iron Wall available now it's not as strong as it used to be, still makes me want to pull out my copy of it though and use it for old times sake. Just a few thoughts from a casual player.

I think the reason why they brought back Envoy of the Beginning is for konami to make more money since Envoy of the Beginning is in that new Gold Series 4 pack. That's probably why they brought monster reborn back too and put MST into semi-limited instead of just limited last time.

Well, for one thing, I'm glad they made Legendary Six Saumrai - Shi En limited. That card is just way too over powered.

And tbh, I don't see the reason why they'd make Heavy Storm limited and Giant Trunade forbidden seeing that Heavy Storm is the far more potent one.

Making Call of the Haunted and Swords of Revealing Light limited is gonna be a head ache now. It'll provide a total of 6 turns where you can't attack and Call of the Haunted is basically Monster Reborn in trap form.

They make changes based on what they see in duels and also new cards coming out. With the current Forbidden List and such the back row is too easy to keep full, and certain decks are over-used. They want to change that with each update so people will switch to other deck types. This new ban list is going to make it harder to keep spells and traps out and also hamper some of the top decks while bringing back some of the older top decks.

Sure Heavy Storm's effect may seem more powerful than Giant Trunade but it really depends on how you use it. Depending on the deck you play the effect of Giant Trunade is way more useful than Heavy Storm and visa verse.

I'm excited at the prospect of what this may bring, but also kind of scared. With too many powerful trap/spell destruction cards it's going to be hard to counter anything which puts it back on which ever monster has the best ability or destructive power.

Well, the good news for me is that Black Luster - Envoy of the Beginning is no longer banned

Which will greatly help since I had this deck back in the day built around "Twilight" monsters - monsters involving Light and Dark. These days, I've mostly been using Dark guys but i think it's time to bring the Twilight back.

Also, I decree that Heavy Storm is WORSE than Giant Trunade. I mean, with Trunade, you can clear the other guy's field as well as your own and place the cards again whereas with Storm, ALL spell/trap cards get destroyed, INCLUDING the ones you set up.

It's also bad against cards like "Starlight Road" or other counters to prevent card destruction. Trunade wouldn't destroy them, but simply send them back to the hand but Storm is more risky.

Always loved Envoy of the Beginning myself, was always a favourite of mine to play back in the day. Kinda tempted to break out my copy of Envoy out again but I dunno where or how I'd use it.

As for Heavy Storm vs Giant Trunade I think that's all a matter of play style/deck. Personally I like Heavy Storm better just because that's something I'll drop when I need it or I'm looking to put someone away, Trunade only delays the problem while Heavy Storm gets rid of the problem (usually, of course Starlight Road and Stardust Dragon say hi so that is a valid point). I do agree that Heavy Storm is more risky but as someone who takes calculated risks I'm perfectly ok with that since I am aware of the risks.
