@ mae you'll get another chapter when I'm ready to post one. I didn't go fully into the details of this fight for a good reason, you'll see why in later chapters

@ Iki, don't worry, higher body count to come in the later fights and as the plot develops.

Anyway, the next fight is Shazi VS Koby!

God damn writers block meant it took me a lot longer to type up this chapter than originally intended.

Still, I'd say it turned out pretty well, so here we go, Chapter 17!

Kametsu Kombat - Chapter 17 – Death comes when you least suspect it

Kakashi carried Reijou back into the hotel. “She’s a strong fighter, with a good head on her shoulders... she won’t have any problems in the future” Kakashi thought to himself. As he walked into the main hallway, he caught sight of Shazi and Adelphia running towards him, with a medical team close behind. “Relax, just a few cuts and bruises, nothing to...” Kakashi was caught mid sentence by a punch to the gut from Adelphia. “Let go of her!” She yelled tears visible in her eyes. Kakashi sighed. “Fine” he murmured, trying to catch as his breath as he laid her on the stretcher. Reijou was promptly lead away, with Adelphia close by her side. Shazi remained with Kakashi. “What about you? Don’t you want someone to look at that cut?” she asked. Kakashi just waved his hands. “Just a scratch” he said simply, and made to leave. “How long are you gonna hide in the shadows by the way?” he called out.

Koby stepped forward. “Who said I was hiding?” he replied, spinning his gun-blade around his finger. “I just want to get my match started. Seeing as you’ve now lost the stomach to fight Kakashi, it won’t be long before my match.” Shazi groaned. “I’m all for getting our match out of the way with, but don’t you think you’re being just a little too eager?” she asked. Koby shrugged, performing various tricks with his blade. “I just want to see if a little girly like you really deserves a place in this tournament.” Shazi grit her teeth. She hated it when people called her girly, and hated it even more when people looked down on her. “I am SO going to enjoy kicking his ass” she thought to herself.

Kakashi glanced at the two and groaned. “Well, time to get going!” and with that, he vanished in a puff of smoke. “Does he always have to show off?” Koby thought aloud. “Guess you and he and a lot in common” Shazi replied and turned to leave. “Running away?” Koby called after her. “From you? Hardly” Shazi scoffed and headed back to her room.

----Meanwhile----

Reijou was still out cold; her mind was racing with the battles events. The traps that Kakashi had prepared in advance of their battle... all of them were well thought out and placed, yet she couldn’t help shake the feeling that she was missing something. Something very important.

Adelphia sat close to her master. What Kakashi had said was true, her injuries were only minor, and was far from being in any danger; however, she felt that this was the only place she could be. Holding Reijou’s hand tightly, her mind raced with thoughts that went against everything Reijou had taught her. She wanted to make Kakashi pay for what he’d done.

Picking up her swords, she headed towards the door. Taking a quick glance back, she charged off down the corridor and into the hotel complex.

----Elsewhere----

Shazi was sitting back on a chair, deep in thought. She knew that Koby wasn’t going to be a push over opponent, and the gun-blade he wielded was certainly going to be troublesome, as it meant he didn’t have to worry to much about distance in their fight.

“Match starting!” Shazi almost jumped out of her skin in surprise. “Guess its go time” she thought to herself. As she went to open the door, she heard a faint click from the other side. Instinct took over, and she dived to the left, as several bullets flew through the door, and embedded themselves on the wall. Koby kicked the door in, and quickly readied his blade and walked inside the room. Shazi grabbed a nearby fruit bowl and sung it directly into Koby’s face, knocking him back a few steps, before launching a jump kick into his stomach, sending him across the room.

Koby sprung to his feet and charged, Shazi had to go on the defensive and dived over her bed, Koby’s blade narrowly missing her arm as she leapt. In the room, she was at a disadvantage. While Koby didn’t have much space either, the fact that he had a weapon really gave him the edge, especially considering its ability to function as a gun and blade. “I need to get some more space...” Shazi thought, as Koby went around the other side of the bed, firing several shots as he went. Shazi grabbed a lamp and threw it at Koby, who simply cut it in half, but while he was distracted, Shazi jumped over the bed again, and ran out into the corridor. “Persistent bitch...” Koby muttered and chased after her.

As Koby emerged into the hallway, Shazi caught him with a series of punches into the side, before kicking him straight over the side onto the floor below. Just before he hit the ground, Koby flipped and landed on his feet, and opened fire again. A bullet scrapped by Shazi’s cheek as she jumped over the side. Koby grit his teeth tightly trying to keep up with her movements as Shazi darted around the room. “She’s faster than I expected... but that doesn’t matter.” He thought to himself as he swung his blade again, slicing a statue clean in half.

Shazi flipped out of the way, before the two faced each other, both out of breath, and both being very cautious of the other. “Not bad” Shazi commented. Koby nodded “Your better than I thought you’d be, I see why your in this tournament.” He replied. Swinging his blade around quickly readied another charge. “It’s been a long time since I’ve had such a good fight. But I’m just getting warmed up!” he yelled

Suddenly, both fighters heard a crash from his above them, and saw a figure falling towards the ground, shards of glass reflecting the light all around. Shazi and Koby both dived in opposite directions as the glass crashed down, and the figure hit the floor with a sickening crunch.

Shazi slowly got to her feet, and looked up at the roof, although it was many stories high, she could just make out the figure of a person looking down over the hole in the roof, before it vanished from sight. Glancing back towards the body, she gasped in shock. It was Kakashi.
