Nope it does not, we're talking about media players you use to watch videos on a computer.

Technically I think it does count cause if you read the thread title correctly it state and I quote "What Media Player do you use to watch downloaded videos?" and psp is a media player not just for games.

But at the same time if they had stated what media device do you use then it would be appropriate I guess.

TBH I use Winamp,Windows Media Player, and the VLC Player rather have one player that plays all formats but it seems impossible to find the right player for certain files ((MKV,FLV,etc. being the hardest for me =/))

MPC-HC will play every single format if you download the Quicktime and RealPlayer codecs from the K-Lite website. However both those formats suck and are rarely used these days so MPC-HC with CCCP out of the box will be all you need.

I voted for VLC, but it was a long time ago, now i use MPC-HC with CCCP and it works really good. It would be cool if i could change my vote.

Yeah I also voted for VLC a while back but I have soon found out tha MPC-HC is way better at both the playback and also it's audo doesn't get distorted when you raise the volume all the way to high.

I use combination of VLC and MPC. I don't watch much of HD content so never had many issues with VLC but sometimes it does give me problem. Basically I use VLC because I got Fedora on my system.

Yeah I also still use VLC sometime it might not be the best player in the world but it does get the job done sometimes.

The thread title was already super long.

How is Media Player Classic better then VLC Player??

For one thing VLC does not render videos in HD. It downscales HD to SD to make it seem like it runs better on slower PC's. Secondly VLC as zolockit mentioned:

VLC isn't good. The devs haphazardly compile the libraries for portability with playback compatibility. What is that? Well, they want the player to play anything on any system, out of the box, with minimal need for the user to configure it. That is a terrible concept. So of course crashes and horrid playback ensues.

MPC-HC with Shark007 windows 7 codecs.

If you use windows vista or 7 you really shouldn't be using k-lite or CCCP. Shark007 is a much more stable pack and will still let you play all the common formats.

Shark is the least used pack for a reason. CCCP is the #1 pack for all versions of Windows.

MPC-HC + madVR (video renderer) + ReClock audio renderer + LAV + Halli media splitter + ffdshow.

These should give best quality on video - audio playback on Windows. Nearly everthing is supported. madVR & LAV's performance is higher than ffdshow (which is CCCP or K-lite's core).

MPC-HC + ReClock gives audio quality equal to famous Foobar (some says better - I think the same).

CCCP is user friendly but at the expense of security. You have more control with Shark and will run into less headaches with it's codecs. Just because a lot of people use it doesn't mean it is the best. Look at IE :P

If CCCP get around to releasing a new version with the new Haali splitter it may be a half decent pack again.
