[Anime] Scary or Horror Anime Recommendations?

Just caught up on Another, wouldn't mind seeing more of something similar. Also watched Ghost Hunt, but that wasn't as bad.

Elfen Lied is kind of in that vein. More along the lines of horror in terms of sheer violence.

Another good one is Higurashi When they Cry. That one you would definitely enjoy

Really for horror then you are going to want to watch some ones that are gore and not comedy. So something oldschool like TOKKO should pique your interest. And I do agree with Higurashi and the Hellsings. Gantz isnt scary, its just bloody and awesome. Try the manga of Gantz for scary

although there aren't any horror anime out there when they cry has a bit of slaughter , supernatural the anime has "supernatural stuff", ghost hound has a "ghost" theme and yah don't forget chaos head you will be so horrified and wondering when it will end ...

have you tried watching "loups=Garou" very good ... you can also try "bio-hunter" both of these are classed as horror ....others are "demon prince Enma" ... and "devilman ovas 1-2" ...and "devilman lady'" hope this helps you out a bit

I've never found horror in general to be that scary, in anime the only thing that ever even slightly scared me was the first arc of Higurashi. The only others that vaguely piqued my radar were the first few episodes of Serial Experiments Lain and a few parts in Elfen Lied. If you're scared by sheer amounts of gore with creepily terrible writing and dubbing, look into Genocyber. For much better writing with still tons of gore, check out Hellsing Ultimate.

Vampire Princess Miyu has been around for the longest, and it's probably one of the few horror animes that I haven't watched. Since October if almost here, I'm taking most of the recs for myself. It'll give me some things to watch as well.

Ok now here is a quick list

• Higurashi when they cry (Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni) Ni - is season one. Kai - is season two. Make sure you watch the right one first because in english they are both named Higurashi when they cry. Also the first season is dubbed and subbed, unlike season two.

Another and Mirai Nikki are two new and pretty freaky animes
