AxelVIII
Is it wrong for a straight Male to enjoy watching such Anime such as Sailor Moon, Tokyo Mew Mew (Mew Mew Power in English) and the like? I ask because I am made fun of for this all the time, and I want to know who thinks this is wrong to be treated for liking such things/or who thinks that being a straight Male should keep me away from Shojo Anime and Manga. lemmingllama
No, it is not wrong at all. Sure, Vampire Knight is intended for female teens and I am not, but I still watched it and partly enjoyed it! Dont be made fun of, anime is so you can watch what you enjoy!!!!
shadowtheman
So what if you like watching stuff like sailor moon. Its no big. You shouldn't worry about it. You should just enjoy for the sake of enjoyment. Not because of some ones expectations or stigmas.
HeyVinh
No, lots of people grew up watching it because it was cool. I included watch Sailor Moon and Cardcaptors beside my Pokemon and Dragon Ball Z. I really did enjoy Shugo Chara! even though it's pretty much childish. Xanodus
Don't feel as if it isn't normal! It is normal. I enjoy animes such as Bakugan, Chaotic, Naruto... etc.! I enjoy them a lot, and just because an anime is intended to be aimed as a particular sex, doesn't mean one of the opposite sex shouldn't be able to watch it. J-Lord
I enjoy animes like that and I believe that there is nothing wrong with them. As previously stated, they are basically the animes we grew up watching and for a young adult such as myself to still enjoy them, I believe it is not werid at all. Every person has different things they like and hate and others should not make fun of those who have different likes that they believe are not normal. The real question you have to ask yourself these days is whats normal!? ZeroPenguins
Lol that's like saying all the Key's animes such as Clannad, Kanon, Angel beats, etc are for girls and not for guys. I love most of the key's animes and I'm a guy. So therefore it's absolutely normal.
Dude888
Dude... I just watched Lucky Star for a second time. I know it's not for everybody and it's aimed toward a female audience, but I enjoyed it, a lot.
Rinkwolf
I watched Hetalia and it was funny. But more because of the Historical references it makes. @Dude888I think Lucky star was more geared to the male audience then female. Hetalia is the opposite of that, so is Black Butler. There is much less shows that are made to appeal to females but when they are done right they become a huge success since they are few and far in between. AxelVIII
@J-Lord144, Yuri, and lemmingllama. I have enjoyed your comments, and I now feel better about the insults I endure for watching the certain Anime I enjoy. Because of you guys and your helping words, I now know that I shall never give up the Anime genres I enjoy. So for your help, and encouragement, I thank you. Drake
I like most kinds of anime, including those. So yeah, no need to worry bout it If you get critisised you should feel good for being a better anime fan than them In fact, you should pity them.[The only for-girls anime I cant stand is Angelic Layer (though I watched through the whole thing anyway)]
VeritatisCupitr
different persons have different liking. what anime u like 2 c is totally ur business. don't give a s**t if others say u shouldn't c it.
Dude888
@Dude888I think Lucky star was more geared to the male audience then female.See, I'm not good to determine what audience is aimed for, not just with anime, with everything really. So I just watch stuff and don't care about what anyone thinks.
ShredAlert
No problem at all mate. I've watched stuff like K-ON!, Vampire Knight, Hatsukoi Limited, Lovely Complex, Kaichou wa Maid-Sama! and Lucky Star. I can say with no hesitation at all that I thoroughly enjoyed all of them. On the other hand some of my favourite anime include KissXSis, Sekirei, Rosario + Vampire, High School Of The Dead, Onegai Sensei and Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai. What type of anime you watch doesn't define who you are. Just watch what you enjoy watching.

donaldrev
I think you're normal, and you don't have to worry. A lot of men watch My Little Pony, which I think we can agree is at least as geared towards girls Sailer Moon.---------- Post added at 09:08 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:07 PM ----------*Sailor Moon, sorry. Beer
Watch the shows you enjoy. You have nothing to be ashamed about. I've enjoyed a bunch of supposedly "girly" shows (Lovely Complex is one of my favorites). Tell anyone who teases you that you're secure in your sexuality and maybe they should look at themselves for compensating for something with bullying. solanki
Its perfectly fine.. its just we are made to think its not.. so girls only watch a certain type.. and guys another.. the truth is.. the choice of genre depends on an individual..
