Books that would make good anime?

Broken Sky by Chris Wooding.

A brother and sister, Ryushi and Kia, live quietly in seclusion with their father and brother before a little girl arrives at their home. A few days later, the King of the Dominions(one of two alternate worlds), Macaan, sends troops to attack the home of Ryushi and Kia with the intent of killing everyone and capturing the girl. Ryushi and Kia manage to escape but not before watching their father slaughtered by a mysterious warrior in green armor.

What follows is an amazing tale of love, freedom, revenge, and reunion across two alternate worlds full of bizarre creatures and dangerous foes.

Honestly, I'd prefer to make it into a full-scale movie trilogy. Shame I'll probably never get that chance.

The Night Angel Trilogy by: Brent Weeks

I think it would make a great anime. Even though when you read the series you don't think anime. It has all the elements of something epic if it were put to a three season series and it would work very well I think in anamation. One season per book. Summary: Kid that has nothing wants to become an assassin that has magic powers, or special abilities called a "wet boy" (which is rare and near impossible to become) finds the best teacher but has to leave behind dear friend (girl, of course:D). Leans to become a "wet boy" and meets girl years later, but then country is consumed by war, does he stay true to his new life? Abandon it, to save the girl? Try and stop the take over of his country? or stupidly try and do all three? well that's it in a nut shell, though it gets way more complicated and it is a very raw series that doesn't shy away from anything that real people just might do in the characters situations.

The Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan, it would never work in a movie because too much of the books revolve around the thoughts and perceptions of the person who's perspective your reading from at the time, and so many things would be difficult but not impossible visually, but in an anime it could work very well, but only if they stick to the books and don't add/change or take anything away and put a lot of effort into staying true to the books like they did in the first 2 harry potter movies, but that is unlikely

The Farseer Chronicles, The Liveship Traders, The Tawny Man series by Robbin Hobb, all 3 trilogies are part of the same story, though the liveship traders is a bit removed, excelent stories and they would work excellently as anime, my only concern would be the lack of understanding of european medevil culture that I've seen in some anime, but it is a very small concern

The Obsidian Trilogy by Mercedes Lackey and James Mallory, awesome stories and I think anime would have a much better chance of expressing the rich culture of the elves than a live action movie, and many other things would also mesh well as an anime

The Drizzt DoUrden books by R.A. Salvatore, these would work well as live action movies or anime, not the deepest books I've read (unless you count the journal entries at the beginning of some chapters), but lots of action, not a boring moment, and not too much dialog.

Stardust by Niel Gaimen, I was seriously pissed when they butchered my favorite book when they turned it into a movie, best book I've ever read and they had to change/add and leave out a butt load of details and got everything wrong, it was completely unnecessary. Would work well as a movie or short anime, but only if they stay true to the book or it is only viewed by people who never read the book....

Acorna series by Anne Mcaffry and various other writers, I think the best part of the book series was that anne mcaffry didn't write them alone as I find her writing style to be very dry, however the acorna series would work well as movies or books, but I dread it being turned into movies, I think an anime would do a lot of justice to Acorna and flesh out her character in a cute appealing way that I just can't see in a live action film, but I could definitely see Acorna as a cute and awesome anime chick if done right

of the books I've read, those are definately my top candidates, I also think anime could do justice to the life of King David from the Bible, especially if they don't do anything that contradicts scripture aside from the contradictions already there (I'm referring to one set of histories saying God caused him to do something and another set of histories saying it was the devil, first mention of the devil in scripture in canonical order but not in historical order as Job is quite probably the oldest texts in scripture and is believed to have occurred before mosses, though it is uncertain if it was meant to be a story for teaching or a record of actual events (long explanation, hopefully will minimize possibility of hate mail)) If they show the rise and fall of saul and a bit of Davids childhood, it would make a great beginning, and there are many details missing in Davids military career which would leave plenty of room for embellishment if done properly, though many christians would object I myself would not be offended as long as nothing is contradicted, plenty of action, and plot twists to make a good all-around story with bits of comedy, drama, and romance.

Eragon, I would give up watching porn just to see this animated, just so I could forget about the piece of trash live action movie that was released, it's a really great series that deserves better imo.

The time machine, I loved this book and it has enough interesting features for it to be animated, finally,

Artemis Fowl, Come on don't tell me you don't feel the same, just let them stop at the point where his mother takes a more active role in the story, I didn't like that too much.

I agree that Eragon would make a good anime. I was thinking that before I read your post even. lol I think the book the Last templar would make a good anime as well. It has some action and it is kind of a mystery type book involving the catholic church and the templars. I think a good studio like funimation could make a great anime out of it.

Honestly that series put me to sleep and I have not touched the books since.

The book I think would make a good anime/anime movie would be the Rangers Apprentice by John Flannagen.

I quite enjoyed the ten books so far ^.^
