    Tomb Raider: BUY IT!

All I'm gonna say, If you haven't bought it yet, go out and get it. Phenomenal game. One of the best I've played in a long time and I'm only a few hours into it. Great open world survival/third-person shooter.

    Rurouni Kenshin Live-Action

They totally didn't make Sano work in real life. Sure, they picked some thugish looking dude to beat people up. That's the easy part. Where they screwed up with Sano was, not so much his personality but his motivations. The only reason Sano fights against Kenshin in the first place is for the money. It was no longer "I'm gonna fight you because you stand for everything I hate" like in the anime. It may have been the same character, per se, but robbed of his original motivation, it was a hollow shell to me.

    Your Greatest Final Fantasy Achievement!

It's sad that I can tell who the VIII newbies are by them claiming Ultima Weapon was anywhere close to a challenge.

    Rurouni Kenshin Live-Action

So, I finally got to watch the live action Rurouni Kenshin film and... I was sadly disappointed. Now, when it comes to Rurouni Kenshin, I'm too much of a "traditionalist" or "originalist" or whatever you want to call it. When I heard they were going to be making the movie and adding as many characters as they said, I said, "Okay, well I can understand that a few things have to be changed." However, the amount of changes made, especially to the individual characters, were...frustrating to me. I won't go into extensive detail, but just note that many of the characters are almost unrecognizable from their manga/anime counterparts. Their motivations, behaviors, attitude, everything is almost completely changed in most of the characters, which is what frustrated me the most. So, if you're like me and you wanted a real adaptation of the manga/anime, be prepared to be disappointed, in my opinion.

    Halo 4 (Possible Spoilers)

Just finished about thirty minutes ago. Fu**ing hated the ending!!! How could they do that?

    Halo 4 (Possible Spoilers)

So, I've been playing Halo 4 for roughly seven hours now. And I gotta say, it's giving Reach a good run for my favorite Halo game. I'm about 2/3 through the Campaign and it's been a solid story so far. But what's got me hooked the most is Cortana. An important part of the campaign is the effects of Cortana running past the usual lifespan for an AI. This causes moments of intense emotion and un"Cortana"ish actions. When she isn't having these moments, she's in constant fear. The actress for Cortana game one of the most solid performances I've seen in a video game. Absolute props to her. Of course, Master Chief is still an absolute badass. Leaving piles of bodies behind him is just another day in the office. Multiplayer has kinda taken a hit, though. The maps are few and don't offer much in diversity. Granted, I don't think any map can get better than good ol' Blood Gultch. The loss of Firefight, as well, drops the multiplayer fun a couple of notches. But, I'm mostly a Slayer guy myself, so I manage. Overall, this has shaped up to be one of the most solid games of the year. It's classic Halo at it's finest. If you haven't picked it up yet, please do so. I highly doubt you will regret it. Discuss.
  8. Once again, rather than give us what we want (FFVersus, KHIII) Square wants to "revamp" old games (FFX, This). Tsk tsk.

best hero in final fantasy series

    Squall.
  10. Hopefully, we won't see as drastic a change in Lightning as we saw from XIII to XIII-2. That always bugged the hell out me. Seriously, the whole plot of XIII revolved around the fact that Lightning didn't want to be the servant to the Fal'Cie. Then, literally after she stops the Fal'Cie and saves the world, she pledges to serve Etro. WTF? Serve the Fal'Cie: Bad. Be kidnapped from your sister, brought to a world where time doesn't exist, be forced to constantly fight for the sake of some goddess: Good. WTF? I never got that part. Such an unrealistic change in Lightning's personality.

How Did You Get Into Final Fantasy?

My Dad bought me FFVIII for Christmas when I was a child. Was super excited since I'd wanted to play it ever since I saw the trailer on TV.

Final Fantasy VII Remake - Thoughts?

I find the topic name funny considering the fact that they've already made games better than VII. VIII had a much better story and I loved the Junction System once I learned how to exploit it. IX had a better story and was a much more fun game to play (especially with the Chocobo Hot/Cold Game). X had the best story and the gameplay was solid. X-2 and XII just sucked. XIII had a semi-weak story but I thought it's had the best combat system to date (just this writer's opinion). XIII-2 may have had a confusing story and practically zero Lightning but it was still pretty fun to play. So, in reality, SE, you have made better games than FFVII. Just admit that you have no desire to make the remake. And then either admit Versus is dead or give us something to show you haven't abandoned it yet.

    Films you want to see!

Cloud Atlas comes out next month. I can't wait to see it.
  14. Mass Effect 3. If I'm lucky, I might survive.
  15. Everything I've heard so far about this game makes it look extremely promising. First, more Lightning. No need to say more. Second, the battle system is completely revamped from the previous 13 titles. No parties. From the sounds of how different accessories create different actions in battle makes it sound like the battle system from FF 10-2. And the way that the character moves makes it sound like a bit of a Kingdom Hearts battle system, as well. The concept of the "world-ending clock" ticking down adds a nice twist and the fact that all your actions can either add or take away the amount of time on it. Again, all in all from what I've heard of it so far, this game looks very promising. Be interesting to see if Caius makes an appearance as the villian since he wasn't properly defeated in 13-2. Gonna be looking forward to when this gets released next year.
