Ive never had any problems with BS Player and if i do VLC works just as great. Although ive never heard of VLC not playing videos in HD?

The poll is outdated and rather biased.

Before VLC 2.0, VLC use to downscale video and zoom in to lower cpu/gpu usage to make it play HD files smoother on crappy PC's so people would claim it was better because it worked easier on their PC's. Now days every PC you can buy should have absolutely no trouble playing HD files however. Also with VLC 2.0 they fixed a lot of their issues and stuff as well. I still don't use it myself but I can admit it's at least decent enough to use for those who want to.

I used to use a WDTV HD player but I eventually got tired of the lack of updates and having to fiddle with some files to get them to work, now I use XBMC on my laptop hooked up to my TV. It's pretty awesome having my whole video library neatly organized and at my fingertips as well as from the comfort of my TV.

i use VLC it plays most video and audio files and is quite basic and simple will all the thatcher i might use like syncing audio to a vedio if it is out or using different audio or video tracks, but if i do have a problem opening something i resort to GOM.

I use both Windows Media Player and Media Player Classic - Home Cinema.

I use VLC player, and it works fine for me.

Does anyone else have heaps of problems with VLC Media Players such as freezing, playing files interlaced, quality deterioration and more?

Here's an example of something that happens regularly:

(None of this happens with any other players I have used)
