J-Stars Victory VS, originally knows as 'Project J' is currently a new Anime fighter game being created for the PS3. The game seems that it will feature anime characters from various anime, though only 4 have been revealed as of yet (See below for current characters which will be updated as the game progress)

 

It is hard to say what type of fighting style this game uses but looking at the game in the few trailers it does have it seems similar in a way to DBZ Zenkai Battle Royal which is a DBZ arcade game released in Japan only. Have a look at this trailer and decide for yourself:

Toriko? This is going to be awesome! And, Wow, I hate gokus voice. If that's what his voice was like in the anime, I'm glad I watched it dubbed.

First time I had heard of Toriko was from this game, I think the anime has recently started to be dubbed. Yeah thats gokus Jap voice, I to watched dub but got use to the jap voice thanks to the first Budokai game. I am hoping this game gets released outside japan and dubbed that would be awesome. I look forward to seeing what character get put into the game.

It seems that they will be using all the characters from Shonen Jump, especially since they say "Who will be the next Jump hero?"  So I'm putting my money on it being awesome and with a decently sized cast, and I doubt that it will come to America since licensing will be quite expensive.

This is why I hate licensing, I would really like to play this game and have wanted to play a big anime brawl game for years but knew licensing would screw with it somehow. Still I will be keeping watch over it

Two new character were announced awhile ago but I missed it, Ichigo from Bleach and Kenshin Himura from Rurouni Kenshin (I could be wrong as I have not seen the anime.)

I hope that they will have as big of a cast as Soul Caliber or bigger. I can't see them adding any more major titles to this, or if so then only one or two at best. Likely the rest of the characters will just be some of the other big characters in the shows already seen, like Zoro from One Piece.

Two more characters were announced 2-3 days ago, one of which I know Sakata Gintoki from Gintama and the second being one the I do not know and don't really care for (That is me personally) Kankichi Ryotsu from Kochikame (It seems to be an old anime).

 

 

Along with these two new characters we have also got a sneak peak (through pictures) of the fighting mechanics of the game and for your viewing pleasure it is translated from Japanese to English. Enjoy

At this stage it does not look like it, I think it may be one of those games that would be hard to import over to US and Europe as there may be licensing issues. I took this off a site that I am following for information on the game:

I want it!!!!! It looks almost like it will have large 3D maps with the shot of Kankichi Ryotsu shooting from afar. This will add a whole new dimension of me being able to run away then kill people. Either way, it seems like they are investing enough money into this that it should come to America as well. Sadly it will likely be only for console...

I just prefer PC gaming in general, plus I don't really want to buy a new system for the 1-2 games that I actually want.

 

As for the characters, they are all Shounen Jump characters. Maybe we should just look through all the big main characters of the Jump series and that will reveal some candidates for the game?

By Budokai 3 do you mean side camera fighting style like most 1 vs 1 fighting games have? Or Controls wise is the way of attacks and combos?

 

From what I have read there are 4 types of attacks, you light attack, heavy attack (Breaks Guards), A signature attack and a finisher attack.
