Kinara Uzumaki
I'm a spectacle wearer myself (sorry for not using the word glasses because spex is what we use here) and I'm totally dependent on them. It started when I was 8 or 9 years when I couldn't see the blackboard in school from the back row. I began wearing glasses from then and I still do now.......it went from short-sight to both long & short sight. I can't read a damn book nor can I look at computer screen without my spex. Yea, I'm half-blind I guess. I've been thinking of shifting to contacts but can't seem to make up my mind.
† Shazi
persaonlly if i wasn't terrified of them, i would get both glasses and contacts for different things
† Emotional Outlet
I don't want things in/on my eyeballs. I don't wear my glasses often enough to justify it.Java is too blind for contacts, haha.
lemmingllama
I know how you feel. I wear glasses for seeing faraway details (mainly for driving and movies) and I would never switch to contacts. I hate putting stuff in or near my eyes.
Zanco
I agree with every one on not liking contacts. I don't remember most things so I would leave them in and let them roll into the back of my eye sockets with out even knowing that I had them on in the first place. I have no idea how my mom ever used them. * ~*
† poetictragedy
I started wearing glasses in second grade. I was nearsighted, but it's gotten so bad that I'm also farsighted. I can't see anything more than like six inches away from my face. I started wearing contacts in maybe seventh or eighth grade. I prefer contacts; I think I look better in them and they're (usually) less hassle. Once my eyes stop changing, I'm definitely going to get corrective laser surgery. I also have astigmatism, so blarg.
† Emotional Outlet
A lot of military folk got PRK or PPK or whatever variation of letters it was. I went with my supervisor to his surgery because he needed me to drive him to and from the appointment. I watched them laser some eyes and IT WAS TERRIFYING AND SIZZLING AND I HAD TO SIT DOWN. † Emotional Outlet
I'm a sensitive soul, haha. The other day when it was raining, there were worms all over the sidewalks and I almost had a panic attack. Like the moment I looked down at the ground and saw them everywhere, I was pretty much done. I started sweating and walking super stiffly as my breathing became super shallow. People don't understand the depths to which I hate worms. (ಠ益ಠ)
Zanco
I love worms! I remember picking them up and letting them crawl all over me when I was a kid. Oh the good ol' days.

† poetictragedy
I remember going with my dad when he got his done, but I don't remember any specifics. He still needs glasses to read though. I wouldn't mind just needing glasses to read...

Dae314
Every morning around here there's tons of slugs all over. I'm surprised our cars don't have more guts on the tires from rolling them all over in the morning... Not as bad as when the snails invaded school every year. At least slugs just go squish when you step on them. Snails (especially the baby ones) go crunch-squish which for some reason makes things worse. I don't understand how those things continue to survive...

It sucks to be blind-like all the time and I think my eyesight is worse than yours by about an inch.....Hehe I actually measured lolz. Go for the laser surgery! I don't mind worms and most of the insects but spiders! They creep me out.......If I spot one, I won't rest until it's killed because I know that it will find its way to me at some point. † Emotional Outlet
Spiders are cool, they eat other bugs. I'll let them hang out as long as they don't make a nuisance of themselves, and they usually don't. They'd be okay except for the fact that our cats will kill and eat them, so if I have a chance, I'll try to escort the spider outside. o3o
