Hi,

I know this will probably get me banned but i prefer Gundam Wing to the othe Gundam Series....

maybe its the cheesy romance, maybe the nostalgic value it holds or maybe people agree that it was just great i dunno...

please dont hate me...

Is Eureka seven any good by the way? I saw it in a magazine a while back and lost touch with the anime scene a little of late, it looked to be good but was it just another mecha series or did it have a USP that might pique my interest?

I would say for an anime that I thought was the best for the mecha series... I would say Mobile Suit Gundam: The 08th MS Team. Though if your talking what I think the best show is that just happens to be in the mecha genre that I would have to say Eureka Seven.

Haven't really watched a ton so far, but I would have to be Gundam Seed. 00 came close, but then i watched the movie and it ruined it for me. 00 is far too preachy in beginning (which i didn't like), then in the middle lost it (which was awesome), then the movie brought it back at the very end ( i was loving the movie, till the giant flower bs).

Im nearly done wing, and so far...eh, It started off really strong, but it feels pretty meh right now, I will reserve judgement for when i finish though.

So far though, i totally prefer real robot to the other type of mecha anime.

Most Sci-fi action packed anime seem to have Mechas battling each other out and showing their awesomeness B-) .Cause they are

Been a fan of Mecha anime since i was a kid. And I'm sure most of you must have seen at least one anime featuring Mechas :D

So which is your Favorite?

Mine was defiantly Ninja Robots when i was a kid. But recently I found Eureka SeVen absolutely amazing.

P.S. There was a Mecha Anime(other than Ninja Robots) that aired on Cartoon Network long ago (say about 8 t0 12 years back). Cant remember the name. Any Help? :)

I like Code Geass don't know if thats entirely Mecha anime but it is basically Mech as far as I know.

Was that old anime you remember called Medabots?

I haven't watched a large amount of 'mecha' anime, but I'd have to say Gundam Wing. The story is excellent and rather dark at many points along the way (albeit not in the blood-and-guts sense), with some top 'is he really evil?' moments. Every single episode made me hungry for more (although the recap-episode or two was completely unnecessary), where that true essence can be somewhat rare, for me at least.

I have also seen the entirety of the original MS Gundam series (1979) and I was surprised how much I liked that too. Gundam Wing is superior, but the original gets a lot of points considering how old it is. The 08th MS Team is also quite good and easily the most 'adult' of the three, but it ends far too quickly. >_>

Bokurano

Think Evangelion, only much more tragic and more depressing, and the ending is not a bad acid trip. :)

This show's version of comic relief is a floating Mickey Mouse eared thing called "Dung Beetle". He has got to be one of the top 10 most sadistic SOB anime characters ever drawn. This guy makes Lelouch look like Mother Teresa.

This anime is bittersweet, like the best dark chocolate. I'd recommend it to anyone who likes their anime on the dark side.

I grew up with the original Voltron on Saturday mornings. That still has a spot in my heart.
