Shinigami, Soul Reaper, or Death God?

In Bleach the Shinigami have often been called various things.

In the English dub they are almost always called Soul Reapers.

In the Japanese dub they are usually called Shinigami, though often called Death God as well.

What is your personal favorite?

When I was watching English Dub only my favorite was Soul Reaper, and I still kind of prefer it. But I've been watching the Japanese Dub lately and have gotten use to Shinigami and now I actually call them that normally.. :/

i don't know why but for once the Japanese did not stick and i call them death gods xD

Well as I'm to understand SHINIGAMI translates into "Death God", so I usually refer to them as either shinigami or death gods...unless I'm talking to my friends who either don't watch it or only watch the english dub on adult swim because they're not gigantic anime fans

i'm used to shinigami; i've watched several ohter anime that use that term as well; so i'm used to it.

I call it either Shinigami or Death God. It feels so much better than Soul reaper.

Shinigami is my preferred reference. Death God is too bland, and somewhat boring (IMO). Soul Reaper is also good in some cases. But, I'd rather have them be called Shinigami. It sounds much better too and unique.

Ive only watched dubbed so far so im use to soul reaper but im goin to watch subbed soon so i dont no if that will change =\

yeah, i used to call them soul reapers since i watch eng dub, but talking to my friend who watches it subbed calls them shinigami, and then i got used to calling them shinigami as well

I can't consider them Death Gods because it reminds me of Death Note. But I like Shinigami in the Japanese versions and Soul Reaper for the English. Either of those works for me.

Shinigami, which is odd since I watch the english dub but I read info on it on a wikia, so I mostly read shinigami insted of soul reaper so I think of shinigami insted

I prefer Soul Reaper > Shinigami but generally use Shinigami to keep dub haters happy lol Plus Shinigami makes me think of Death Note more than Bleach

I started watching the series over in Iraq, all they had it in was Japanese with english sub. I was so used to hearing Shinigami all the time but when I bought the series in english and started watching it all over again Soul Reaper just sounds shit hot.

I am inclined to say I prefer Soul Reaper, as I always think of an actual Death God, thanks to Death Note, whenever I hear Shinigami, not a human spirit kind of thing
