Awaiting in the Dark (Working Title)

Empathy

The bell rang to signal the end of the day, as the students began to walk towards their rooms or the cafeteria for dinner. There was only a two hundred students at the Academy, so classes were small unless a major lecture was needed.

A tall skinny male student was walking down the corridor towards his room, his black short spiky hair looked as if he'd rolled out of bed, whilst his eyes you couldn't see where the pupil began as they were that dark. His hands were submerged into his pockets as he kept his eyes towards the floor thinking about the girl from the lecture. How could a girl go missing and no trace be found?

Another male came running down the corridor his hair a electric blue colour and his eyes that of a husky, his skin almost white, making his lips seem smaller. On his back was a small rucksack as he kept running.

*SMACK* The blue haired male had collided with the other boy, as they both fell back.

"OH GOD! I'm sooo sorry Punner!" The blue haired boy said as he hands shook.

Punner's eyes seemed to begin to glow meancingly, as he stared at the younger boy. The blue haired boy seemed to shake hard, as small whines escaped his throat. "Please Punner...Please stop!"

Punner began to smile as he watched. An older boy who had blonde hair, blue eyes and looked innocent came up to the pair. His voice sounded soft but almost compelling, "Punner let Razadoran go."

"Aww Shade...It's too much fun watching him suffer."

Shade stood above the pair, his innocent look was a great cover for his "gift". Tendrils of darkness wrapped themselves around Punner's legs inching their way to consume his body.

Poor Razodor, with his blue hair gasped as Punner's hold weakend. Using his feet to push himself away his body trembled, as the ther two glared at each other.

"Fine...let Icy get away with crashing into me..." Punner spat on the floor as a tendril wrapped around his throat making his eyes bulge like a bug.

"Apologise," Shade's voice still that gentle calm, but his blue eyes were cold and meancing.

"Sh-Shade he doesn't need to...it's my fault," Razodor stuttered, his own abilities were useless compared to these two as he used the wall to pull himself up.

Punner started to choke as the tendrils slide into his throat, Razodor knew that once Shade had started he needed soeone to stop him.

"Shade please stop...Your going to kill him!"

Shade smiled at Razodor, the smile spoke of the darkness that was inside his head. The tendrils finally slid back into the shadows. The blonde haired boy moved over to Razordan speaking very softly, "If he picks on you again...He won't be as lucky..."

Shade slinked off, leaving Punner coughing and gasping for air. Razordon, headed off to the libarary thinking about the girl they had been told about from class.

How can anyone go missing for 6 months and no one notice? He kept thinking over the possibilites as he walked into the grand libaray that was kept in perfect order.

An older student sat at one of the desks, his notebook in his lap while he nodded along to his MP3. His pen tapping along with the beat, as his midlength brown hair moved with his nodding. Rival, Fang. Most people just called him Fang, he got certain privilages such as tonight he would be let off classes tommrow to recover. New to his abilites of shapeshifting he was still under the control of the moon.

Razordon, just kept walking past moving to find something of Empathes. Most people who were named after they got to the academy were named after their power. So he wondered if Empathy had empathic or telepathic powers, as it may explain he desent into madness.

Fang reached into his hair giving it a sharp squeeze, he hated that he lost control. Even though he was now remembering some of what happend after he changed, it was still painful and made him fearful of those around him.

The hairs on the back of his neck were raised. Instincts....Trust them dude...their always right. He was once told by a fellow shifter, as he slowly turned his MP3 off so he could listen. Something else was in the room, but it was hiding. He slowly stood looking, moving along one of the bookshelves, to any person watching him it would look like he was searching for a book.

Fang stared around the now almost desearted library, his skin crawling as his eyes darted. His mind searching everything he saw, the shadows could hide anything, within its labarinth depths.

A soft growl admitted from his throat as Raz turned around to look at Fang. The shapeshifter's eyes like those of rain clouds, no human had eyes like that. As the younf Raz moved back he heard the soft noise.

Sobbing. Someone was sobbing.

Fang placed a finger to his lips and pointed to a bookshelf. As he trod carefully and slowly as if he were on a highwire.
