Slayer
The PS3 has potential and I hope the 60GB stays at $499.Currently I do not care for it but I am planning to get one in the distant future maybe late 08.By then game developers and gamers alike will have recognized it's true potential and there will be games like Metal Gear Solid 4, Devil May Cry 4, and God of War 3.I still love the PC though, people that say it's too much hassle to keep upgrading your PC are kinda wrong. You can get by just fine with an OK system, ofcourse the game won't be fleshed out in all of it's glory but it will be a good if not great experience. Zero_Edge
Don't have a ps3 and not going to get one. I just think it costs to much and I don't think it's really worth it. Not right now anyways. i'll just go over to a friends house and play it lol. Although a few of the games I've seen so far, graphics are just... breath takingly amazing. Actually that's one of the main reasons that I might get one in the future.
Drazhar
I'm going to buy mine in a starter pack (ps3, two controllers, two games (made by sony, so basicly motor storm and resitence fall of men) for €600...From the start I've said: I'm going to buy it when assassin's creed comes out...So I sticked to my plan, even when assassin's creed got delayed from february to november...So assassin's creed is a game I'm looking forward to, and next game I must buy: Little big planet! (which is probably released somewhere mid 08)
Anooxy
Isn't the 60GB version $499??? That's the price in USA.
Drazhar
Sony Europe desided instead of a price-cut, to go for a starter pack, with two controllers, and two first party games...This is a petition for a european PS3 price cut... maybe you could sign up? Anooxy
Those petitions never work. And there are rumours which state that Sony said there wont be any other Starter Pack.
Reenhart
I own a PS3 (60GB) I got it back in January. I got to say despite all the hard times Sony is having getting it launched off strong due to legal issues it was well worth spending 600$ on. Havent had a bad experience with it yet, Right now the only games I own for it are..Genji: Day of the BladeNinja Gaiden SigmaFEARResistance: Fall of ManBut yeah once Sony gets it launched to its fullness when the legal issues are done, I think it will blow up, maybe even more when they eventually have a price cut. I own all 3 of the new consoles... rarely play the Wii, I think that was a bad investment, but meh my sister has fun with it^^.Anyone that has a PS3/360 here or a PC with enough power should try out Rainbow six: Vegas, got this last night for PC(20$ compared to PS3/360's 60$) its brilliant if you like FPS. Drazhar
http://www.hardware.info/nl-NL/extcontent/ZpaZbZhkmZvGZpSUyA/BluRay_beats_HDDVD_in_the_US/According to Home Media Research in the first half of 2007 Sony's high-definition format known as Blu-Ray has beaten its Toshiba-promoted rival HD-DVD. The first six months of 2007 have seen Blu-Ray movie sales out-number HD-DVD sales by 2-to-1 in the United States. Throughout the January-June period 1.6 million Blu-Ray movie discs have been sold while HD-DVD movie sales have only topped 795,000. Blu-Ray's record sales have been boosted by the release of "300" and have been backed up by strong sales of Blu-Ray-enabled devices. That's one more round to Blu-Ray.http://www.gamepro.com/news.cfm?article_id=51558http://www.computerandvideogames.com/article.php?id=160954t turns out that the PS3 might be easier to develop for than the PS2.Is the PS3 really as difficult to program for as critics have claimed? Not according to Lyndon Homewood, lead PS3 programmer for Volatile Games, creators of the upcoming PS3 title Possession.Homewood recently spoke with The Guardian, in an article which posits that the "PS3 is not as complicated to write for as we've all been led to believe." In fact, if the article is to be believed, the PS3 may even be easier to program for than the PS2.Homewood speaks about the challenges and advantages of the PS3's multi-core Cell CPU, which is considerably more advanced than even the Xbox 360's cutting edge PowerPC-based processor.Though the graphics performance of the PS3 will be, in Homewood's words, "slightly above the absolutely top-end graphics cards on the PC," the Cell chip is the real seat of the PS3's power.Just how will the PS3's eight-core CPU cluster impact games? According to Homewood, it will allow for a tremendous amount of calculation-intensive effects like ragdoll physics and realistic water ripples. And the graphics... well I'd say their equal at this point... so basicly, the dude is talking bullshitAs for the price diffrence, 20-30 dollars? bullshit... most of the games are the same price ($60) or 5-10 dollars more expensive...
