Laptop(s) For Parents?

Recommended Posts

My mom and dad are both looking for laptops.

Depending on how pricey they are, I was thinking of getting them each a laptop for X-Mas via Black Friday/Cyber Monday.

They will both be primarily used for:
1) Video streaming - Netflix, Hulu, etc.
2) Basic work related stuff - Work, Powerpoint, Excel, etc.
3) Surfing the internet - Email, Skype, pintrest, etc.

I'm looking for suggestions as to what is out there.

I know my mom wants a a 'normal' keyboard with the number pad and I know my father is primarily focused on good battery life.

Both would like good screens as well, given their age and sight loss.

Help?

Gonna be honest, plenty of laptops out there that are designed just for that.

Key things are just finding laptops without power hungry GPUs and Processors, which is the primary reason for battery draining.

So basically stay away from AMD & NVidia Graphic Chipsets, and stay away from the Intel I Series and one of the AMD series for processors.

Usually these type of laptops are priced around the 300 - 700 USD dollar range, depending on whats loaded.

i would go for the $370 one, myself. it has touchscreen more ram, storage, and cpu. Both likely have the slow 5400rpm drives but for your need its not an issue.
