[Anime] Looking for a new anime

Has anyone got a good suggestion for anime that contains: swords, action and optional: romance and school. Cheers.

I have to second Berserk as it's a really great one. The only other one I can think of that hasn't been named is Sword of the Stranger.

Claymore's a good one. Chaos Head has a fair amount of sword stuff and school stuff but it's like a horror though. 

Breathless mentioned Sword of the Stranger and that's fantastic unfortunately it's just a movie rather than a series. 

 

I second Dark_Angel's post on Samurai Champloo. If you haven't seen that, start with that. 

 

Btw, anyone mentioned Samurai X? That's a fantastic one as well.

Great stuff. Love that anime. That was one of my firsts. I still hum the opening song to the first season randomly.
