[Anime] Need help choosing between 3 movies.

Ghost in the shell. Appleseed. Dante's Inferno. Which one of these three should I buy on iTunes and why?

Ghost in the Shell, a really gripping story and was just awesome imo, you wont be letdown with that choice.

^If you're going to watch Ghost in the Shell, I'd recommend watching the two tv series too as well. It'll make a lot more sense if you do. (cause I watched the movies first and while it was pretty awesome I didn't quite get what was happening)

the appleseed is really good but i dont think it continues its kinda its own  so id say do ghost in shell

I have a soft spot for Appleseed, both movies were excellent.

 

However, GITS is amazing. The pacing, the concept and the overall package is just really well put together. However, the movies are just a fraction of a huge story that takes place in the different series.

I don't think I'm up for another anime series to watch, so from what I've read, Appleseed is just a movie on it's own rather than having connections to a series. I am going to watch Appleseed first and maybe think about watching Ghost in The Shell series then the movie. As far as series goes, I only like watching one at a time. At the moment, I am watching Death Note because I just finished watching FMA.

The original Ghost In The Shell movie was just a stand alone movie it has nothing to do with the series, but there is a sequel. Appleseed has a sequel Appleseed Ex Machina.

Ghost in the shell. I haven't seen the others but having seen Ghost, I would highly recommended it just for its cultural influence and popularity. It's known to have influenced alot of Western sci-fi movies like The Matrix.

If you're looking for a single movie go with Appleseed. It's well developed and understandable by itself.

 

If you get Ghost in the Shell you'll end up wanting to watch all of it, not just the movie.
