† Emotional Outlet
Every day when you come home, the first thing you do better be to log into this forum and tell me exactly how your day went. It's a pretty generic question and I feel like people generally do interesting things during the day. Tell us about your work shenanigans, any interesting folk you ran into at the grocery store, or the goofy thing your teacher did today! If you want to discuss something in depth that comes up here, please feel free to start a topic about it, or otherwise continue the conversation elsewhere on the forum! Discussion fodder is always good. For reference, we have venting threads here and here if you had a particularly bad or aggravating day. === Today I tidied up the first half of the YA section, finished weeding out the YA books that don't belong to the branch, and started pulling injured books from the shelves. The media tie-ins (all the books based on like kids shows--MLP, Spongebob, superheros, &c) weren't overflowing, so I didn't do them today. For the the rest of the week, the librarian has like three giant lists of children's books for me to pull. Joy. Today was also my final appointment with my current therapist. I don't know if I'm going to continue treatment at another location, but since it won't necessarily be free this time around, it'll probably be a while yet. I wrote up a cleaning schedule so we can unfuck our apartment, so hopefully having the daily reminder will keep our place from being a tornado of depression and misery. Overall my day was pretty tiring. Not looking forward to dragging my butt out of bed in the morning, haha. So, how was everyone else's day? J-Lord
Sounds like a fun filled day EO!My day is still as you could say in progress, I woke up at 6:30am to go to work that starts at 8am, I had to be there really early to tackle a lot of work that had built up (I am a storeman). And pretty much today is like any normal day, I set out a plan, plan gets interrupted, then interrupted again and then I throw my whole days plan out the window and play the day out as it goes, see normal Still got half a day left to go, looking forward to closing time YAY! Dark_Angel13
My day was alright I suppose, not very interesting at my course, quite fucking boring actually and then I get home to find out the thing I've been waiting for all day is now FUCKED! oncemore so yeah, not a good day but tomorrow will make up for that
Breathless
My day is okay. I slept in and woke up happy, then I realized I had two miss calls from the Casino (I applied for a job there), oops. Called them back and it seems I have to fill out a 50page form or something. My completely empty week just got a lot more busy. Also, my brother just asked my for some anime. That NEVER happens! So that's cool! † Emotional Outlet
J-Lord: Ha, sounds about right. When I was in the military, I'd go into work thinking I'm gonna do a thing and then get this other thing finished. But nope, somehow someone always has to drop sixty other taskers into my lap and the deadlines are yesterday. Dark_Angel: Punch the day in the butt. Breathless: I hate that, omfg. I'll wake up happy and then I'll realise something has gone wrong and it makes me all grumpy, haha. === I got up this morning and started getting ready, so I went to the dryer to pull out some clothes. Turns out the dryer ate one of my bras. I was a little aggravated because I haven't bought a bra in a while (maybe about a year) and my supplies are dwindling. Think it might be time to suck it up and buy new bras. Other than that, I finished off those three lists the librarian left me. There were two twelve page lists and one thirty page list. I stayed a little late today to finish it up, but it was worth getting done today. I would have finished sooner if I didn't take a break to use the restroom, haha. Oh yeah, she left me a lollipop. I ate it on my way home. Did a little cleaning around the kitchen, took out the trash, about to pop in another load of laundry and get to folding all this ish. Gonna finish up cleaning the rest of the kitchen when Java gets home and get started on dinner in about an hour or so. Hope everyone else has had a not horrible day! Breathless
Sounds like you're having quite the productive day! Excluding the dryer incident of course, but there's a fool-proof solution for that.Step 1. Turn huge and green. - Step 2.Fight the dryer! - It won't dare eat another item of clothing! - So, I've gone through some of the pages from the form I was talking about before. I need character references, can't be family members and has to have known me for at least 2.-3 years... Who do they think I am, a social person!?So I've been calling up people from high school for some awkward conversations, haha. I must admit though, I'm actually having fun. Kind of. † Emotional Outlet
Finding references for my security clearance was super hilarious. I was seventeen and hadn't been in contact with anyone for more than a few years at most, so I didn't know who to put. Facebook is pretty much a collection of potential references for me, haha. Pinkie Pie
my day was alright. i lurked tumblr and read sailor moon manga, and avoided doing anything that involved much effort.and then i got a crippling case of sad, doubled with paralyzing lonely, so now it's not that great, but i'll survive. † Emotional Outlet
Yeah, effort is overrated. It's been a lazy past couple of days for me too--so tired all the time. Hopefully it gets better. =< I know you've had a rough couple days, so here's some virtual hot cocoa.
Breathless
For some reason I woke up grouchy today. No logical reason, just a bit cranky. Maybe I was hungry. I kind of get cranky when I'm hungry, haha. Anyway, despite living in a bin and going by the name oscar, my day was quite productive. Got basically all the forms done, references done, and made a few calls to my university, going to get some moneyz to help with the pay. (yay) So it's been a so-so day for me, maybe even good despite the start!
† Emotional Outlet
Aww, waking up cranky is no good. Glad everything else has worked out okay. Why are you in a bin, though I forgot to turn on my cell phone, so I was almost late today! What a mess, haha. We've got my desktop up and running now, so I'm gonna be updating it and fixing up some stuff since it hasn't run in a few months. I've also started fussing around and looking for jobs, because I guess money.
Breathless
Money is important, damn you economy! I know some people enjoy work but I would love to just live at home all day, every day. If you don't mind me asking, what kind of jobs are you looking into? And yay, a working desktop. That's always good! This was me today, haha.(Oscar the Grouch)
† Emotional Outlet
You look awful green today. Well, I'd prefer to continue doing what I'm doing--be a librarian assistant--but be paid for it! Unfortunately I don't think any of the branches are hiring for that position, or at least it's not indicated as such on the website. There are a few other positions at the library that interested Java, but they're way beyond my expertise, haha. Otherwise I'm looking into doing admin data entry stuff or maybe being a receptionist. Just stuff that involves doing mindless paperwork. Whatever doesn't make me want to rip out my fingernails, haha. I don't want to work fast food, but I can probably tolerate working in a store and doing stock or something. I've literally never worked outside of the military, so what I'm doing at the library is pretty much my first foray into the civilian work force. I'm trying to bully Java into helping me write a resume because srsly, I don't know what I'm good at. Being on Tumblr. Playing the Sims. Why am I allowed to be an adult????? lolrawr
Oh wow what a jerk. So today as I was coming home from school I decided to stop and get something to eat. I was at the drive-thru and got my foods and was about to go ahead, but I saw a little old lady and her granddaughter trying to cross the street. So I slow down and let them pass. WELL. The dude behind me decides to be rude and honks at me! I almost wanted to honk back or something, but I didn't since that never solves anything. In other news and also speaking of jobs; I got an email back from a job I applied for. It's another IT type job (similar to the two I tried to get a few months back). I think I'll be helping setting up printers/scanners for people. The email said that they saw my resume and wanted me to fill out their application and send it to them. Then they'd set me up for an interview.
† Emotional Outlet
Jeez. We get people like that over here too. We have the occasional intersection where you can't turn right on red--some of them are time sensitive ("No turn on red 8AM-3PM"). I think I was with Java and we were at one of those intersections, so we waited for the light to change. Apparently people don't like to read signs or maybe they really needed to poop, but we had some person behind us getting upset and honking, as though we were just sitting at the light for fun. It's like people's immediate assumption the person ahead of them is an idiot and doesn't know what they're doing, but then you end up that situation where you have to do something like wait for a family of squirrels to cross the street and the people behind you have no idea why you're stopped. That's good about the job though! Hopefully you get it, aah.
Digatu
Today, Finally, Me and the ex decided enough was enough and to go totally on our seperate ways. Kinda glad in a way, It has been holding me back not knowing exactly where things may or not be going. And it wasn't like I could go looking for and starting any new relationships if I wanted too until this was decided. Anyway time to enjoy my freedom. 17 years with the same person is a long time. Not looking for any replacements as of yet. I've been enjoying being on my own for the last 2 months at my new place and I'm not giving up that freedom. † Emotional Outlet
Aah, well, I'm sorry it didn't work out, but I'm glad it was finally resolved! I've been so tired this weekend, I just want to lie down forever. Fluctuations in my sleep schedule mess me up so bad, I don't know why I let myself do this, haha. Screaming Spoon
I've had a horrible weekend and weekday so far. *sigh* It turns out I'm as interesting as a stick, or so I'm told. I'm finally getting my website together and stuff, so that sort of made my night.
Breathless
I'm sorry to hear you've had a rough week, I hope it gets better! But you've got a website, right? That's already pretty darn interesting if you ask me!WELL. The dude behind me decides to be rude and honks at me! I almost wanted to honk back or something, but I didn't since that never solves anything. You're a good person! I don't think there's a single person in my city like that, haha. And I'm glad to hear about the job, I hope it goes well for you! Speaking of jobs, here's an update about the job I applied for before. (the one which I had to fill out those forms) Everything has checked out, seemingly. Since my friends work there, his boss has already told him that I'll be getting training, but that's unofficial so anything can happen still. But it's looking good. The job is a Dealer, working at a Casino, haha. It's going to be interesting to say the least!
† Emotional Outlet
Good luck at the casino! They're interesting places, but I don't think I'd like to work at one, haha. I get told I'm boring and uninteresting all the time in my random encounters on Pesterchum. If someone tells you you're not interesting, they are probably not worth your time. And sticks are interesting if you'd slow down to see what was going on with the stick. What if it was one of those bugs that just looks like a stick?? You'd never know unless you asked.
