[Anime] similar to death note

hey guys, looking for a new anime thats similar to death note. meaning, dark, intellectual characters that constantly outsmart each other. any recommendations?

Code Geass, Eden of the East. There arent very many good phychological ones out there

oh yeah is code geass psychological like that? watched the first episode didnt really get that impression. and whats eden of the east like?

Both have more of the "smart people fighting each other" kind of vibe. For just plain intelligent anime then try the philosophical Serial Experiments Lain. Also, Steins Gate is supposed to be intelligent but I havent seen it so I cant vouch for it.

The anime u r lookin for is Code Geass [2 seasons], its very good and the climax is better than death note

I'll second this one, it is still airing though as of this post it is up to ep 11 of a planned 26.

If you enjoyed Death Note then I assure you, you will definitely enjoy Darker Than Black, I just started watching this series and it is as epic as Death Note. It reminds me quite allot of Death Note in similar ways, just test out the first episode and you will see what I mean after that you will be hooked to the series.

Code geass r2 is the ONLY anime that comes close but Death Note will alwaze be #1 best animes of all time especially in that genre
