hikarabita
I don't really think of something best but only personal preference. For now and the past, I've been using avira free.

karutobi
Norton internet Security 2011 Work great with my crappy laptop but i might try ESET when my Anti-virus expires.
Gigan
I use Microsoft Security Essentials. It's probably the best free option for a windows PC because it's most compatible with your OS and it's detection rates are on-par with the other free stuff out there. I've never paid for an antivirus so no idea what the best pay one is.
Anon316
I used to use Norton back in the days, then I tried out AVG as it was free and I liked the layout of it, but now I am currently using McAfee and so far it has served me well, though I may experiment with others in the future, I will stick with McAfee for now!!! Unbi
I have AVG Internet Security 2011 and it's been good so far. I'd rather go for something less bulky though!

Jªvª
Hard to say about this, cause I use plenty of them over the last 15 years. And each year, one company modifies the internals so much and changes the industry.Public Release - Bitdefender or KasperskyCorp Release -Mcafee <-very dangerous if you set it up incorrectly
Cello
I'm a pretty big fan of AVG, though recently I got a hold of Trend Micro when I bought my laptop. It's pretty darn good!
Strick9
I haven't found one that catches everything all the time. At work, I ran Windows Defender, MalwareBytes, Spybot S&D, and Symantec on one system and each one caught different things.
snex777
Seriously there all much the same. I prefer my anti-virus to be light weight so i use malwarebytes.
