Default or Custom?

Many of you here play the RPG's, along with a few other genres, and many of them give you the option to alter the main characters name, as well as others; in some cases they force you. Though do you do it? Or do you decide to keep the default names? I generally prefer to keep the default names. I'm not very good with creating interesting names, and it's always nice to see what the developers had originally intended. As far as the games which force you create your own, I usually just take a name from other RPG's, I usually end up using the name Kain.

I ALWAYS chang it. Usualy to something in Latin. Luminous is a common name, but I do Angelus and stuff like that constantly. I NEVER use the default name except on online games (Like Halo) cause than they under-estimate you

I keep Default. I dont like making up names for my characters. I think it ruins there character.

Yeah I always use Defaults to avoid confusion when one person's talking about "Angelo" and you're talking about "TheStrifenator" when they are the same damn person argh lol

See! I am the same way. Keep the default names to avoid confusion. That would have made me even more confused.

I never change it when character has a default name.

I used to change the characters' names when I was younger, but now I leave them default. This way, it doesn't confuse me as to who the character really is when I talk about them.

Eh? I leave em as default, but as for games that force you to picking names, I usually go with Linoud and stuff.

I usually keep their name the same if it offers it. If not, I usually pick random names. Like in Secret of Mana, they force you to name the characters. The dude was always "Mana", the girl was always "Pearl", and the sprite was always "Sprite". ;D And in early Zelda games when they didn't tell you Link was Link, I named him Zelda.

Of course, now when I play the games that force you to name games, I don't pick retarded names. I never have a fall-back name--I just choose the first name that comes to mind, and that's usually Kumi.

I usually keep the defaults, I really don't like making up names, and usually the names I make up don't suit the character.

Haha.. EO I remember the old Legend of Zelda a bit.. but when I got Ocarina of Time I didn't remember the series at all. I thought Link was Zelda, so I named him that at the beginning too!

i use the default names given. if i have to make up a name i'll make it serious the first time, and later something like ass, butt, crap, fart, etc. (i know its childish, but it can crack me up some times if the wording is right).
