Subs VS. Animax-Asia Dubs

Right, so in a normal Dubs vs Subs fight, Dubs often take an outstanding lead.

so, i decided to do something a bit different. if you had the choice to watch an anime subbed or dubbed by animax-asia, which would you choose?

this should be a slightly fair contest, i think ...

Somehow, I was expecting this lol. like I said in the cb I only liked Animax's dub of Samurai x which was really good but I 'd prefer subs over everything else they did.

well, the question i basically asked is whether you would prefer bad dubs to no dubs ... that said, not every animax dub is bad. take Samurai X, GetBackers and Gurren Lagann for example

Animax dubbed Gurren Lagann as well are you sure man? and I'd prefer no dubs to bad dubs honestly.

i'm not 100% sure about Gurren Lagann. i THINK it was dubbed because i saw it on animax and the voices were somewhat off from the ones i downloaded from the site.

If I remember correctly, Animax has some kind of agreement with Bandai, so it should have been the Bandai dub that aired.

normal dubs are good but i prefer subbed anime in general. animax dubs arent usually too good

I've watched some Animax Dubs and i liked them all they were no where near as bad as people make out they are and i would rather watch them instead of the series Subbed.

Hayate Combat Butler

K-On

Slam Dunk

And Slam Dunk I prefered the Animax voices over the American Dub of the first 10 episodes.

When it comes to dubs vs. subs for me.. it depends on the series.

As far as Animax dubs? Eww.. never heard one that sounded even remotely good. Most sound like someones grandpa and grandmother were doing the translation and the dubbing. Awkward wordings, non-existent acting, etc..

Subs clearly win in this poll.

I've only heard the K-On! Animax dub and it was terrible. All the characters sounded the same and they translated Azunyan to Azumeow(I understood why, but it bugged me). I usually only watched subbed anime if there is no alternative available, but Animax as an alternative is the exception to that rule.

true, i was surprised by how many people preferred dubs. they're good but some suck and a lot of subbed anime is epic.

I personally prefer American dubs and subs over Animax dubs, but if I can watch a series not dubbed in english in America, yet at least, I will watch the Animax dub, if there is one available.

The only dubs that were good on Animax Asia was the ones that weren't theirs.

I've only seen K-on! And the copy I watched sounded like someone recorded it with a Ghetto Blaster 5 feet from a TV... It wasn't bad, but it wasn't good either... But I'd still prefer that too subs... I don't mind reading but I end up watching a section then re-watching them to catch the action or lack there of...

Voted for subs because I am too lazy when it comes to listening sometimes not to mention if the voice quality (dubbers) suck I can't understand the story so I say SUBBED.
