Dervell 120 Report post Posted August 24, 2017 Black Clover MAL Synopsis: Asta and Yuno were abandoned together at the same church and have been inseparable since. As children, they promised that they would compete against each other to see who would become the next Emperor Magus. However, as they grew up, some differences between them became plain. Yuno was a genius with magic, with amazing power and control, while Asta could not use magic at all, and tried to make up for his lack by training physically. When they received their Grimoires at age 15, Yuno got a spectacular book with a four-leaf clover (most people receive a three-leaf-clover), while Asta received nothing at all. However, when Yuno was threatened, the truth about Asta's power was revealed, he received a five-leaf clover Grimoire, a "black clover"! Now the two friends are heading out in the world, both seeking the same goal!

GanymedeElegy 1 Report post Posted October 15, 2017 (edited) Well, we will all have to wait and see what it's gonna be like. Maybe it is a little early to call it the next big thing Edited October 15, 2017 by HeravyMetalQuee

sudoku 32 Report post Posted November 13, 2017 This has a Bleach feel - the 10 leaders are like the 13 court squadron... people with abilities, fighting force, etc.... as a Bleach fan, I am enjoying it.
Koby 17,761 Report post Posted November 15, 2017 This show is generic as hell, full of classic shounen cliches, and completely unoriginal all around from the premise to the characters to the setting. It's got nothing going for it and everything against it. People have been laying the smack-down on the show because of the Japanese voice of Asta being completely nerve-grating terrible. However the dub seems to correct this and is actually tolerable. And despite all of this, the show is actually watchable. It's average at best, but watchable. My only real complaint at this point is the pacing is terribly slow. I'm 4 episodes in, and honestly they should've been able to cover the contents of these episodes in about 2 episodes. So if you go into this expecting your average unoriginal shounen and don't mind the slow pacing, you'll probably enjoy this. At any rate, I currently rate it a 5/10 for average. It's basically a mix of Naruto meet Fairy Tail.

Kythos 0 Report post Posted December 19, 2017 Damn, I was hoping for more out of this series. Won't stop me from giving it a go since I enjoyed Bleach, but I will cross my fingers and hope for better than expected when it comes to late season plot. Sakahayanx 0 Report post Posted January 17, 2018 The Story plot really interesting for me. The only thing that unconfort me when I first saw it is 'Asta Voice' I see in MAL it His first debut as seiyuu. In the OVA, Asta voice change.
Koby 17,761 Report post Posted February 28, 2018 The story finally picks up with episode 14 and fortunately so does the pacing. It's definitely improved during this arc. Episode 18 was really nicely done and that cliffhanger is definitely a step in the right direction.
