[Movies] Good Anime Movies

Anyone have any suggestions for some good movies that are just a movie and not a series based movie? Needing some good anime movies to watch!

Theres only one I can really think of that I know I enjoyed, Loups = Garous. Though I dont know if everyone will enjoy it, without knowing what you like It makes things a little hard to pin point. Here is the MAL link if you wish to check it out.

Why do you not want a movie based on a series?

Could you also expand a little on what your tastes are? Do you like romance, drama, mysteries? Do you hate vampires? Do you think werewolves are so passe? Do you want something better suited for older audiences, or is something family friendly okay as well?

I like series based ones too but I'll get those as I get the series for them.. as for what kind, I like pretty much everything lol don't know if theres an anime I havn't liked yet. not that I've seen alot:P and thanks J-Lord, I'll check that one out

Anything by Hayao Miyazaki such as Spirited Away, Princess Mononoke, Howls Moving Castle, Castle in the Sky etc.

I also liked Sword Of The Stranger, Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust, Summer Wars, Steamboy, Akira, Jin-Roh: The Wolf Brigade, Ninja Scroll, Ghost In The Shell, Blood: The Last Vampire, Legend of the Millennium Dragon, Spriggan

If your looking for a good anime movie i highly recommend you watch 5 centimeters per second, I watched it and i really really loved it so there you go.

Spirited Away and Ponyo are really good movies. I've heard great things about other Miyazaki/Studio Ghibli movies, so you likely can't go wrong with those. I haven't seen My Neighbor Totoro in years, but I remember enjoying it.

Thanks for all the suggestions! I didn't know all of those movies were by the same guy, Miyazaki. I agree for sure! All of his I've seen are great movies. I'll check out some of the ones y'all mentioned and see how they turn out though

Appleseed sounds really familiar. I'm certain I've heard of it, but I don't think I've seen it. So cool, glad I'm hearing a lot of different ones I used to want to see but never got the chance and had forgotten about them over the years. Great help(:

Spriggan and Akira are some personal favourites of mine. Also anything Studio Ghibli. But yeah, no one has suggested Spriggan yet, so I suggest you watch that. I really enjoyed it.

Both are well done and can be found with dual audio.

I enjoyed Vampire Hunter D bloodlust, even if it is kind of old. As well as the Cowboy Bebop movie.

I heard a lot of good things about Ghost in The Shell. I might have to watch it someday, in fact I might get it soon now that to think about it, I only have one anime movie and that's a FMA series one, and I have yet to watch that too.
