  5. My review for "Highschool of the dead". It is very rare for me to give a 10/10 to any movie or game, but Highschool of the Dead defiantly deserves the 10/10 because it's one of the top best anime I have ever seen, and I'm not just saying that because I like it, and it is better than all the other teen high school anime like Gantz, Persona, and NGE. Highschool of the Dead is a perfect flawless anime that has well exceeded my high expectations in terms of story, characters, music, action and production values, based on the ongoing manga series of the same name Highschool of the Dead follows a group of Japanese high school students who witness the violent global zombie apocalypse during class time at their school, similar to the opening of Red Dawn except the Russians are replaced by flesh eating zombies from the George A Romero's of the Dead films. As the story progresses the students witness World War Z first hand and are forced to fight and evade their way through the thousands of the ever growing undead as well as rescue other survivors and deal with the ones who have gone insane or crazy by the chaos of the zombie apocalypse. The characters are all very well developed and the story is very well written and keep's you wanting to see more, the music plays on the right mood and for those who have seen 28 Weeks Later might recognize the background music that plays near the end of the first episode ;-) Highschool of the Dead is definitely an anime that is worthy of your time and I will be investing my money into the English dub when it gets released. Watch it ASAP; zombie fans will not be disappointed! Thanks for reading, Hope you enjoyed it.

    Blu-ray or Dvd anime

My budget isnt the best at the moment and I'd really hate to buy Dvd's then switch to Blu-ray later. To be honest, I've nevet noticed much of a difference between the two except when I download them and when I click them, it opens up Vlc player with a larger screen than normal but thats on my laptop, I want to get dvd's so I can play them on my Tv
  9. Hello, I have always watched anime in Dub as I just prefer it but sometimes it can take so long for it to get released that I'm considering switching and to start watching in subbed, im wondering what people think. For example, I've watched Naruto and Naruto shippuden up to ....174 or something (the pain fight) .. in dubbed, would it be wierd to start watching the rest in subbed?

    most hated anime cliches

How about the main character being so strong they could destroy country/planet/universe and so fast they can dodge almost all attacks thrown at them during a fight but somehow ALWAYS get beaten by some random annoying female character in the show...for example Dragonball Z - Goku gets beaten by Chi-chi.... Naruto - Naruto always gets hit and smacked by Sakura Bleach - Ichigo gets knocked down alot by ....Rukia and that annoying girl in his high school lol..(also lol at the soul reaper that makes flowers appear with his swords power...) I mean, I can't be the only one that finds this annoying. also.. how about characters that lose half their skill after the first episode lol... I'm mainly talking about "Blackcat" on this one but im sure there are others lol... Hes a super fast killer who could move through a crowd without being seen or heard in the first episode but can never do that again lol Oh Forgot to mention two other things that ruin a series for me, The first is when the main character loses his/her memory as mentioned a few times in this thread and the other is when the main character wins an epic battle and DOESNT get credit for it or even recognized for what he/she just went through or (and im counting this as the same sort of thing) the main hero wins a battle that no one else could do but still gets treated like an idiot. Examples for these, Memory loss - Teknoman, may be an old series but still a good one but the series kinda took a bad turn then he lost memory after each fight. Doesnt get the respect or recognition Bleach - Ichigo beats Renji, Kenpachi, Byakuya and even gets told hes the savior of the soul society and thats only the first Arc and then in the next arc, Gets told to stay out of the fight and leave it to the others.. people he beat and therefore is clearly better than lol. For the naruto references, I've only seen up to shippuden 152 i think it is so if they make references back to these events at a later episode then I will retract these but still, these are only from the Naruto series which was 220 episodes. Naruto - Naruto uses his fox powers to beat Haku...sakura tells everyone it was thanks to kakashi... Naruto stops Gaara from destroying the villiage, no one gives a crap about that lol ( this one was during the chunin exams too, they could have atleast gone "Oh you saved the F*cking village, maybe we will let you be a chunin." also scumbag leaf village... Naruto saves them multiple times, even beats multiple akatsuki members and spends two or three years training with the pervy sage. They still wont upgrade him from Genin level ninja.

  14. 1..what anime world would you live in and what would you do? 2..would you be a good guy or a Bad guy. 3..what would your powers be? 4..what weapon or weapons would you use. 5..Who would be your enemy, 6..Who would be your nemesis? 7.. what would your story be about?
  15. You guys have been watching a lot of animes. Some of them have weapons in it. Some are normal weapons and some are out-of-this world weapons. Now, if you have a chance to own or have one of those weapons in anime, which one would you like to have. Name it! As for me I'd like Ichigo's sword in bankai mode, zangetsu! Looks great. Simple but great!

    Hexchat hates me !

Hi, for the past couple of days, I have been trying to download some anime but Hexchat won't let me.... I connect to Kametsu network thing and after about 3 seconds, I get a message saying that I've been disconnected and reconnected under a different name, Sometimes its "Guest" with a bunch of numbers and if It gives me Guest, I then get kicked off by someone. If it gives me a name that isn't Guest, I will get about three more seconds before it tells me i've been disconnected and reconnected again with a different name. This repeats until I end up with the name Guest which leads to me being kicked agian..... I managed to get a whole 10 minutes today before being disconnected where I asked someone about it and they suggested making a post here for someone more experienced with Hexchat that may be able to help. So if someone could please help me with this issue, I would be gratefull
  22. This is my review for Naruto Shippuden The first of Naruo Shippuden three seasons were alright they weren't bad but also they weren't that good They dragged the story too much the pacing was slow and by slow I mean really slow ,the battle scenes took several episodes where they can be done with one or two and that almost killed the show ,it's too bad because the story and the characters and very interesting. But after season 3 the anime improve in every aspect the no more slow paced story, spaced battles everything gets better animation, action scenes, sound track and especially the story , I mean it's like it's a totally different anime from what it's started(in a good way of curse) and up till now it keeps getting better and better. Story: The story have humor, action ,tragedy , romance and twists in it and the anime present it so well it makes it worth your while to bear with the first three seasons and some fillers here and there(which are not that bad). In case of characters: most of characters are well designed and easy to relate to ,even some of the Villains ,every characters is unique in his/her own way and have depth. The animations are good...not the best out there but pretty decent for a TV series. Sound track is amazing and fits well in the scenes especially the fighting scenes. So eventually if you are a Naruto fan, you can't miss this anime, it started not that good but it became one of the best anime I've watched. I gave it 9/10 despite the disappointing slow paced first three seasons (~70 episodes)because afterward it gets so good that it covers it up the mess in the first 3 seasons. Thanks for reading and i hope you enjoyed it

    Question for everyone =)

Hi everyone I love the anime "Kyo Kara Maoh", I feel that i could watch the series many times. Currently up to episode 58, I was wondering if anyone knows if they ever dubbed season 3??? Also, Since i am nearing the end of the series, I was wondering if anyone would happen to know of any anime that is similar to Kyo Kara Maoh because as much as i would like to keep watching the series, I cannot without re-watching from the start. So if anyone knows of any anime that is similar, Suggestions would be very much appreciated. Of course, I feel i should mention that I did not much care for the series "Demon King Daimao", Although it started off good, It quickly took a detour off a cliff. For those of you that will ask what aspecs of Kyo Kara Maoh that i liked, Well I must admit that i loved all of it xD Anywho, Thanks for reading and I look forward to hearing back from you.
  24. This is my review for the anime series, "D.N. Angel" This anime was enjoyable to me at some points, but there were really times where i just wanted to get up and walk away. If you don't have the right determination (or laziness) this show could lose its stuff really fast. Its about a fourteen year old named Niwa Daisuke who, on his fourteenth birthday, finds out that members of the Niwa bloodline have been, for years, transforming into a thief named Kaitou Dark (or dark mousey, w.e.). It happens to him all of a sudden while he's thinking of his crush, Harade Risa. Its then explained to him the whole Niwa situation and the trigger for his transformation is directly related to the heart. In short, whenever he thinks about Risa, he turns into dark. There is also a family like the Niwas called the Hikaris, who are actually the sworn rivals to the Niwas. The Hikari boy like Daisuke is named Satoshi, who goes to Daisuke's school under the name of Hiwatari Satoshi. Like, Daisuke, a being like Dark exists inside him known as Krad. Krad doesn't come out when Hiwatari's heart is stimulated though, nope, Krad forces his way out of Satoshi. The whole routine for the first 13 episodes or so is basically the same, dark steals something, plus a little side mission. Dark steals something, plus a little side mission. The fun comes back into the series when an American named Hio Mio transfers into Daisuke's school and from that point on, the series is basically addictive. For your sake of knowing, Risa has a twin sister named Riku who differs from Risa in every aspect but her face. Good show, though standing back and looking at it, it could be considered shojo. I'll give it an 8 Hope you enjoyed reading.
  25. Hello, I wanted to write up some reviews for Movies, Games and Anime. Hope you enjoy =) Anyway, here is my review for the movie "The Avengers". If you're a fan of epic adventure movies, then this is your dream come true. This is the type of film you fantasized about growing up! It really is the ultimate superhero mash-up and it's done perfectly. The makers of this film certainly understand spectacle but they also get the intricacies and depth these type of characters can provide. That right there assures this instant classic will be thought of as the best as well as the biggest film of 2012. The depth of this movie really did surprise me. Even though the high quality of the actors involved and there previous work as these very same characters seemed to indicate otherwise, I was expecting a wild popcorn movie. I was wrong in thinking it was too much to convey in one film. I couldn't be more pleased because they balanced everything masterfully. Sure, there's the popcorn fun we were all expecting but there's also a definite soul to the film and a smart plot as well. It's truly a stupendous movie regardless of genre. Marvel did it, they pulled off the culmination of a master plan that's been taking shape for years. They deliver a movie the likes of which we've never seen before and as good of a film that's ever been made in its genre. There's a reason this grand of a movie has never been attempted before now. How do you fully flesh out, care about and establish this vast group and still deliver a fun, crisp and coherent story? It's extremely difficult to navigate that edge-of-your-seat excitement while at the same time caring about each one of the characters and their struggles. One of the most impressive aspects of The Avengers is that they managed to get each hero their time in the spotlight and their own character arc. Every single main lead steps up and is treated with remarkable intelligence and given room to shine. I loved that the stakes in this film are ridiculously high and the threat so impressive that there really is a need for these diverse characters to come together. That could have been a stumbling block in terms of story but it's treated just right. It's also a great idea that they chose to introduce all the characters to the audience as if you've never seen them before. Sure, the other films set up and give depth to each character but even if you missed their solo films, you'll still know and care about them in this movie. It's also wonderful that everything is as big as it should be. This truly is the comic book epic of our lifetime (the fanboy version of Gone With The Wind circa 1939 if you will) and it all shows up on screen. Everything looks GREAT and feels epic. The equipment (love that Helicarrier), the relationships, the stars, the characters themselves and the battles are all huge and as fully mesmerizing as they should be. There are scenes that are emotional and there are scenes that are going to make any audience member scream "BADASS!" and mean it. I'm serious when I say that the big, explosive moments are as grand as they should be but it's the smaller character moments in this film that really take it to another level. At this point, we've all seen how good some CG action can get but grounding it with a great story and with meaningful quieter moments is what makes a movie good. That's the ace up the Avengers sleeve. This is NOT some CGI video game movie. Cut out the action and I'd still want to see this movie. So, it's safe to say that they are replicating the comic book experience on the big screen. Years of depth coupled with spectacle and advanced fiction is a treat for non-comic book and comic book fans alike. That's is The Avengers greatest power... the ability to entertain all comers! Thanks for reading everyone.
