† ParasiteEve
My main compulsion is that I have to do/have certain things in even numbers, like the tv or radio volume, even when it comes to eating I have to have even amounts. If I’m ever in a situation where I can’t fix it, I start picking at my finger nails and such. The odd part about it, is that 5 doesn't seem to bother me, I've never really understood that part myself. So does anyone else have something similar they do? † Shazi
i have a few little habits, i sit cross legged when i am on a chair, but on the floor i don't. I unconsciously play with my hair a lot too, i also play with my broken shift key all the time when i am at the computer.
† Talena Mae
lets see.... i have to sit at the same play every day, even if it the ones and for only a few moments. When my hand is good, i have to write for at least an hour a day otherwise i feel like i am missing something.... when i and thinking i grab my pendant and run it across my bottom lip.... and that is all i can think of right now. Pinkie Pie
I can't sit by windows, but I won't sit in a place where I can't see out of them in a public placeIf I find a spot to sit at a restaurant and I like it, I usually try to always sit there. I get a little offended if someone else is in my spot XDWhen I'm standing outside near a bush, I usually pick a leaf off and rip it to shreds for no apparent reason.Uhmmmm~~ I always brush my teeth in the shower because I don't want to risk getting toothpaste on my clothes. I can't think of anymore atm.
Libitinarius
I have a bit of a shaking my leg, swaying back and forth rocking habit. Even when I was a baby in the crib, I would get up on my hands and knees and rock myself to sleep. The habit stuck with me for a long time, probably because my sister is disabled and she does it all the time, so I didn't want her to feel weird/bad about it. † Emotional Outlet
I have a hard time keeping my feet on the floor when I'm sitting anywhere (except the floor, since I'm already on the floor). This is especially evident at work when I'm wearing blues and heels, because I'll have my heels off and my feet tucked under me.Everything has to be a multiple of five. Unless it's the volume in my car, then the bar has to be full, not halfway.I have a tiny gap between my front teeth that I have to have clear or else it'll bother me. To check it, I try to blow through it, haha.My hair is very long, so it's easy for me to grab and play with when I have it down.
lemmingllama
I have a habit of touching my scalp. Screw the hair, I want the skin underneath! If I have a pencil or pen, it will be rubbing there, and I need to clip my nails really short or else its a problem. Also when I have a pencil or pen, I will try to click the button, even if there isnt one...
Krogothwolf
I make things go boom. Hehehe, and boom spectacularly.Poor KroSaw The Magnificent and the entire KroCrusher series They never stood a chance really. I also tend to hurt myself a lot because I have a compulsion to do stupid and dangerous things. Just because I want to see what would happen or if I could do it. Like jumping off the roof onto a trampoline, only to hit the tramplonie then bounce off it and slam into a tree and nearly break my nose, neck and other body parts.I have to have the volume at 5 or 10.Usually people who have to do things in even numbers aren't bothered by 5 because its a division of 10 and makes things seem okay. † ParasiteEve
I used to have a habit when I was younger that I had to melt something plastic before I could sleep, now that I think about it, I have no clue how I never got caught doing it because the smell of burnt plastic is rather noticeable. Also, I can’t listen to multiple genres of music at the same time, like right now I’ve been on a classic rock kick and nothing else; sometimes I’ll do it by decade too. † Shazi
OH EO i have the same habit! the volume on the tv just sounds wrong if it isn't a multiple of 5! i also roll my wrists a lot, and pick at my nails.i'll post again when i think of more, coz i know there is more of them XD
Malyssa Rahl
I always open the fridge when I go into the kitchen, or the computer room (mini fridge in there) Even if I am just passing through.I play with my hair when I have nothing occupying my hands, which leads to a lot of guys thinking I'm flirting with them... Even if I'm yelling at them for not doing their side work right. No Bobby! I am not flirting with you when I tell you to put the knife into the damn napkin before you put the fork and spoon on top of it!I've also noticed that, if I'm not playing with my hair, I tend to start signing the words I'm saying if I know them. Often when I am at the computer, I find myself talking to it instead of typing. If I have an open chat with Sarah, I usually get a response anyway. When I play games, I have to have my music playing... Which, if I'm on my laptop means turning on the stereo because this thing doesn't know the meaning of the word "multitask"And my favorite. Every time I see Sarah I have this uncontrollable urge to hug and/or kiss her.
Kasoivc
This probably makes a few of us left side brain people. That's the more logical/organized part of the brain I think?I also have to organize my numbers by either 2's or 5's. Carrying anything else in other amounts disturbs me very much.I also have a habit of keeping my wallet filled with about $20 at ALL times. I feel like if I don't have money in my wallet, then I'm poor - regardless if whether or not I have $500+ in my bank account.
† Talena Mae
oh when i sit on the floor i always fold my legs under me, i can not sit still, i will wiggle rock, make one or both legs bounce.... ummm that's all right now i will let know know when i think of my others. † poetictragedy
I have a really bad habit of picking at scabs. Which has gotten worse, because my hands get scratched frequently at work, and they're just so accessible, I can't help myself.I also play with my hair sometimes. And like EO, I like to fold myself up in a chair, haha.EDIT: And I forgot to mention the number thing. I do that too. Even numbers or multiples of five! † Emotional Outlet
I pick at my scabs too, haha. Somehow I always convince myself that it's okay underneath, that it's healed, and it never is.A compulsion of Java's (and I share because it affects me) is that certain hairs from his beard get irritated or ingrown, so I have to sit and pluck out hairs until he says it feels better. Which works out because I kind of like plucking out his beard hairs. Mwahahaha.
Bluenoser
Let's see...I share the numerical compulsions regarding doing things in multiples of 5, with a subset of 2s as well, but for me it is 5s that are the larger dominating compulsion. For example, if I need to wipe a corner of an eye, I end up doing all four corners of both eyes combined with a flick down the middle between my eyes. I count my steps wherever I am and segment them into the numeric patterns described once I break down my walking area into regions. I always let my blinkers in the car go in multiples of 5, usually 10 but occasionally 15-20 when I have to wait a while to change/turn lanes. This has been a thing of mine since very early childhood.I also share the very bad habit of scab picking, even when I know I really shouldn't even to this day.I have a nervous tick with my hand that requires me to touch my thumb to each finger in multiples of 5 as well. Yes, I know 5 and its multiples really have a pronounced influence on my patterning of my reality, indeed there is a lot more I am not adding here. I've always chalked part of it up to being very severe ADHD, granted high functioning but still and these are coping mechanism leftovers from when I was first trying to sort out the massive data/information overloads I lived in during my youth. Shinigami King
I have to have my cords out of sight, the amount of songs ongs in my psp's playlists have to be even, I can't stand my room being messy, but their ALWAYS has to be something cluttering it, otherwise it won't feel like my room, I have to masturbate before I can fall asleep.
