Check out these shows. All of them are really great and in a class of their own. They are all pretty much different but definitely the best in their respective genres.

Gungrave is my typical recommendation. Its mostly action based, but the characters are awesome and the plot is even better.

As for movies I suggest The Cat Returns. This movie is pretty funny, yet awesome in the strangest ways. I don't think anyone could dislike this film, unless they have no imagination at all.

I would recommend Lupin the 3rd for a good comedy.
