Who here has every witnessed an accident before? Im a lifeguard and so ive seen different situations. Please share if you have been in or witnessed an accident.

My scariest one was where a pro swimmer was doing underwater laps of a pool. Some hyperventilate so they can hold their breath for longer. This one passed out underwater and sank. Scary!

My friends and I were skating about 3 years ago, when I twisted my ankle so when one of my friends walked towards me to try and help he got hit by a car while trying to cross the road :L he broke 2 ribs an arm and 5 fingers we both ended up in the same hospital it was a pretty horrible sight.

Me, My Brother and a kid named Peter were ridding bikes along the highway(you can see where this is going already right?) There was a semi truck(heaviest trucks out there) beside us. Peter was in front, Steven second, and me in the back. Peter swerved over to the semi a little bit, hit his head on the side mirrors, and went down under the tires. I saw pieces of his brain shoot out from the crush. His head was flatter then a pancake and all you could see is blood flow through the cracks of the gravel. Me and my brother were pretty devastated at the time. It's been several years since then. I remember my eyes blurring with tears screaming "hes gone!.... hes gone!... Steven Peter's gone!" Every time I even mention he was run over by a semi everybody that lives here already knows what I'm talking about. They always say, "OMG YOU SAW THAT!?". But it's been enough time that it doesn't totally affect me anymore. I just wish I still had the beyblade I won off of him in a battle but it was stolen while I was living with my mother.

Once me and my best buddy were hanging on Highway on his bike. We reached this place where whole road was red with blood.

There was this red chunk of meat on the road, a guy over there told us that was that poor dudes brain. I almost passed out seeing the sight.

I was in a head on head collision with a drunk driver on a back road right as I passed over a hill. He was driving on my side and I couldn't see him because we were on both sides of the hill. I was going about 40mph and he was going about 50mph. Fortunately and surprisingly, no one was serious hurt, but the cars are completely smashed of course. This happened only about 3 months ago.

Would this include witnessing my own accidents? I've broken my wrist twice while rollerblading.

I was maybe around 7 years old when I saw my first accident. I was visiting my grandparents. Where they live, the streets aren't very safe because everyone is always speeding and at the time most streets didn't have stop signs or traffic lights. Well, I was outside with my older brother and my cousin when all of a sudden we hear a crash. There were these 2 women riding on a motorcycle that got hit by a truck. The guy in the truck just left. The 2 women were screaming in pain and there was a pool of blood where they were on the floor. My parents went outside to see what was going on and told us to go inside because they didn't want us seeing that. They called an ambulance and went to see what they could do.

Mine was about 3-4 years ago, when my father, my brother and I were fishing on the rocks (black rock fishing).

My dad slipped and a sharp edge of a rock sliced through his finger and his hand, and the hand was literally hanging. Blood was everywhere and I was screaming. He couldnt use his hand for weeks o.o

Sure, lots. I've been involved in two serious car-accidents, one streetracing against another guy we hit each other on a steep curve, but ironically if he hadn't hit me instead of a harmless spin on the road i'd be halfway down a canyon. True story, I never did it again after that, mainly because at the moment of impact I seriously thought I had almost killed my friends because of a stupid night, but there were no injuries on either side. The other accident my hand just slipped and I went against the rails at 60km/h, also in a mountain region, but to my luck the roads were very well protected where I had it. Those are my two best "near-life" experiences to quote fight club, I still think about it from time to time about what could have went wrong, and how lucky I am to still be here. I also have a 6cm scar on my left hand from a bike accident like 10 years ago maybe, but I don't think it counts, it was just a gash hehe

Never witnessed one, but I almost died once while in vacation. Took some medications that the doctor gave me but I forgot that I was allergic to it. And I vomited everywhere, fainted and my heart almost stopped. Lucky the doctor was still there and gave me some adrenaline shots so I didn't died on the spot. I think my family was going crazy at the doctor since I almost died lols.

I've been in two car accidents both times the car flipped (I wasn't the driver in either occasion) the first time was through a hedge then rolled down a small bank i was very lucky in that one I wasn't wearing a seat belt. The second time the car clipped a small verge alongside the road. Both times i escaped with just cuts and bruises.

Wow damn >.< so I'm guessing she was allergic to the shot. Man I would of sued that hospital big time. And what is black ice? lol I don't live in snowy country so I got no idea. But good thing you guys were okay.

It's harder more slippery ice, as you read it made the car spin out of control. But he was a very dangerous driver, if he was caught doing half the stuff he did he would have his drivers license taken away. In his hands I've been near death a few times. Lots of joy riding -.-

But with the hospital they couldn't do a damn thing. But really if you think about everything it was a simple mistake in an underpaid small hospital. The nurse must feel like shit and if they got sued she would lose her job on top of the fact of knowing she killed someone by accident. If there was a way to make everyone benefit it would be kinda cool but the world doesn't work like that. It's either get nothing or ruin someone else's life even more so just to gain a little more cause you lost someone.

witnessed a drunk driver crash into several cars while flipping his own and then tried running but one guy wasn't so happy about his car so he cashed the guy and kept him restrained till the cops came this all happened on new-years eve.
