[Guide] PSOBB: What is a Photon Drop & What do I do with them?

1. What is a Photon Drop

Photon drop is rare item, comes in a red box, and can be stacked up to x99.

2. What do I do with Photon Drops?

Give them all to me. Joking of course. Keep them stored in your bank and build them up. You can trade them to other players for rares and other great items. You can find price guides (here and here) to see whats worth what and get that item you really want. You can also exchange Photon Drops in the shop quest "Gallon's shop".

3. How do I exchange my Photon Drops?

In episode 2 there is a FOnewm under the hospital of Pioneer 2 who will transport you, if you have photon drop in your inventory.

4. What happens if I offer more than one Photon Drop?

You will be offered a random item for trade for all the photon drops in your inventory. More photon drops in your inventory at a time will make more items available. Some items within the minimum photon drop group appear randomly. If you add 2 or 3 minimal photon drops to the group, you'll increase the chances of the item being available. You get an option of saying yes or no to every item offered.

Adding Elements to S-Rank Weapons.

If you have successfully completed the "East Tower" quest, and taken the necessary steps, you will be able to speak to Hopkins. Paganini will now offer to add elements to you S-rank weapons.

Photon Drops - Elements

A: 50 - Jellen, Zalure, Hell, Demon and Arrest

B: 40 - Beserk, Spirit, King, Chaos and Geist

C: 30 - Tempest, Blizzard, Burning, HP-Revival and TP-Revival

Adding Percentages % to Weapons

If you have successfully completed the "West Tower" quest, and taken the necessary steps, you will be able to speak to Hopkins and add % to your weapons. Paganini will now offer to add percents to weapons based on photon drops and photon spheres.

• 5% for 20 photon drops.
  
• 30% for 1 photon sphere.
  

Certain rules do apply, and they are:

• Cannot add percent to an S-rank weapon.
  
• Cannot add percent to hit attribute, even if it has minimum 5%.
  
• Can add percent to the same attribute multiple times.
  
• Can add percent to any weapon other than S-rank.
  
• Can add percent to a 0%.
  
• Can add percent to a total of 100%.
  
• Can add percents to multiple attributes on the same weapon. .
  
• You can only have % in three areas. If you do and try to upgrade an area that has 0%, thats why you'll get an error
  
• When using a photon sphere, you must have exactly 30% available to add it to a weapon. That means if you have more then 70% in one area, you can't use a photon sphere on that area.

nice. too bad i've only got 1 right now lol. i cant believe my luck. i was on this hard quest with a bunch of lvl 20s and v gave up in the forest just after the first wave and they all left. i broke open all the boxes and voila ... 1 red pd just for me

Awesome punner, get a couple more and go see about buying a Heavenly/Battle with them. It's a must have item for hunters. It speeds up your attack pattern, giving you less chances to be hit, and allows you to attack back much faster. If you got, say 20 PD, you can then trade them for a lvl 200 rare Rati MAG if you don't care on raising your own.

i need 7 more for the heavenly/battle, right? guess ill have to spam hard quests then. anyways, im not interested in buying a mag. im gonna raise one on my own.

still, i'd like to know who i could trade them with.

its not like i can roam around the place shouting "PD for sale" can i?

I don't remember what I gave for my Heavenly/Battle, I think it might have only been 4 or 5 PD's. However the price guides say it's worth 5-8. So you should be able to get it for 5.

Once you get 5 PD's, go to Skyline, Block 1.

Make a room and call it:

b> h/battle

Wait there until someone comes in offering to sell one to you. Or you can try going to Schthack forums and posting in the trading section asking for one. If me or Ren had extra's we would probably sell them to you, but I only have one, I would like to get another myself.

i might get another one soon since i'm playing on ep 4 hard in an area with a lot of boxes.

keep in mind

that starting on hard mode ANY monster drops PD's so killing them is often a way to get it

He said you need 10 Scape Dolls for 1 PD, if you can even find someone that wants to buy it.

which is fairly rare since they're common enough that most wont bother buying unless they're absolutely desperate
