For villains, do anti-heroes count? I mean some people would see Light from Death Note as the villain, despite being the central character of the story, and at times appearing to be the antagonist while being a protagonist at the same time.

Umm, I don't know anything about Death Note, but if you want to use that idea, it's alright with me.

Spoiler about Code Geass, and why I don't believe Lelouche is a villain nor anti-hero. xD

Lelouche may seem anti-hero but his actions were somewhat justified in the end. He made himself seem like the villain and then sacrificed himself in front of everyone in the end to end the hatred in the world so it could continue in peace. Then he secretly lived with C.C. after that cause he was immortal from Charles code he absorbed. So I can't honestly call him a villian or even an anti-hero. He only made him seem like it to the common people but he was a hero to everyone that knew what really happened. His only downfall/error was his lack of control over his power that lead to Euphies death.

Sorry about not placing tags earlier.
