You know the kind I'm talking about the one with all the amazing looking TEENAGE girls. Do you feel like a pedophile watching and enjoying these type of shows. Especially the ecchi ones.Me personally I try to stay away from those types becuz of the above reasons. Most of the girls are 15 to 17 in the anime, if you are 18 that mwans you are only a year to 3 years older, which kids even have friends and girlfriends that are younger than them, does that mean you stop hanging out wth them just because you grew a year older, no. 2.Just because you watch ecchi, does not mean you are interested in looking at anime girls, it is just a show, it means you like to watch shows. you could be watching it for that reason, or you could not be, but it is still just you watching a show, no big deal. I enjoy some ecchi ones, because I like the story, I don't turn 18 till later this year, but I am not going to stop watching a certaint type of anime just because I am a year older, if I still like the shows, I will still watch them. Plus it helps that there are 30 year old lolis and other things, for all you know they could all be older than 18 and you wouldnt be any wiser. Anyways, I wouldn't stop watching the shows even if people said I was being a pedophile. They are designed for entertainment and I find the good ones entertaining (some of them just arent funny though). So there isnt any harm. Sure the characters are not all underage but anime where it specifically says that they are in high school implies their all minors. And to see that type of stuff and enjoy it just seems wrong to me. This is something be debated in japan. Apparently the actual term loli comes a book were a man has strong attraction to a 12 year old girl. Needless to say it was controversial. It never thought about this till the other day I read about the controversial aspect I tell my self used to watch this stuff when I was younger and in that age group. Now it's like if I was to watch a tv series about high school kids in those scenarios with those elements I would promptly turn it off. So long as the characters are not sexualized, then it does not qualify as underage. Also they will rarely touch anything that does not fall into the category of pornography. It's just blew my mind that anime like that can be aloud to be distributed in america without a problem. But if the anime says it's a high school not an academy and the characters are high school students and there are ecchi scenes then we can agree that anime wont be distributed in america. I don't look at those I try to avoid it, but I see it while browsing, and it's a legal website because if you practically type Doujinshi in the web search engine it will be the top 10 web results. Plus I've personally looked at the rights to the website, legal and all. Anyway, enough of that sensitive topic. Same goes for Hentai, there's a few (probably a TON) that are in the teenage ages and such. When it comes down to it, since it's not real, I don't even think pedophile comes to mind, more of the fact that you're a perv. And as I said, it's not real, so it doesn't matter. ~~~~~ As for your question, I don't care. I watch it because of the show, and a lot of those shows are quite funny, such as Girls Bravo, and several more, purely funny. And their ages are like 16 or 17 (like one of the persons above said), and you see everything. Not real, just drawings or animations. Nothing to it. But also look at it this way, yes the whole pedophile is terrible gross, etc., but for some, it's an escape. For right now, it's legal, so for those gross people that want to see underage shit, they can take the temptation off, by watching Hentail or Doujinshi and the like instead. It saves them 20 years or life behind bars and such, and if you think about it, for them, it's just better to do that instead of try to find the real shit. I know you might think or some others will think, "But you shouldn't do it in the first place"? Well that's definitely true, but for some, they just can't help it. And since it's a very touchy subject throughout the world, I don't think you can get help without screwing yourself over by telling someone you thought you could trust. Anyway, I'm done talking about it, just thought I would throw it out there, mainly because since it's a touchy subject throughout the world, I'm weirding myself out lol. I think you're trying to say that if you're an 18 year old male, and the Anime, Manga, etc. stars 16 year old females then you feel as though you don't belong in that environment, and it gives you overall feeling that's it's creepy, or abnormal, or whatever. But don't sweat it. There are plenty of animes with just teenage girls two that are close favorites of mine are Lucky Star and Azumanga Daioh.
