[Anime] Love Anime!! But don't know what to really watch?

Need any suggestions on what kind of anime is the best to watch. Interested in romance, comedy, action, friendship, science fiction etc.

Well, the kind of anime that is best to watch is the kind that appeals to your interests! You listed a rather broad spectrum, unless you actually want a science fiction romcom with lots of action and also a significant focus on friendship. It also helps to list previous shows you have seen, to give people a baseline for what they should be looking for.

 

If you're into philosophy and dystopian worlds, Ergo Proxy is pretty good. Heavily lauded show.

 

If you're into mind screws like Inception, Paprika is also pretty good. It's more of a science fantasy, but I don't know how "hard" you like your science fiction.

 

Samurai Champloo I guess you could say is about friendship maybe, but there is a lot of action and the music is good.

 

Also if you like stories about friendship, I hear Yu-Gi-Oh has a lot of those, haha.

For Science Fiction - Rebuild of Evangelion 1.0, 2.0 are probably some of the best films out there currently.  Stein's;Gate also tops in that genre.

For Action with a bit of Comedy on the side, you cannot go past Gurren Lagann.

Steins:Gate, Baccano! and Angel Beats are great watches

Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood is a great mix of those. a lot of strong moments.

One of the sci-fi anime I've watched recently is Aria the Animation.  The story centers on Akari Mizunashi, a tour guide at a Aqua (Mars) colony.
