mcdonaldpiers
Ghibli films are what originally got me into anime, and when I watch them back I feel really calm and relaxed. Those films are a pixelated hug. Anyopne agree with me?
lemmingllama
I might not call them a hug, but they are some of the best animated things in existance. Nasiica, Monoke, Howl, Kiki, and Lupin III are the best films of the bunch though
greedyone
I still remember when I saw Princess Mononoke, it was the best thing I saw back in that age (around 1999), it had the most interesting story and the action scenes were great!!,also it was one of the anime's that got me really hooked into anime. shadowtheman
I liked most of what studio Ghibli makes. There stuff is a good pick me up when you need it. At the same time its the kind of stuff you can watch casually and yet have a lot of intriguing factors.
donaldrev
I'm a big fan of Studio Ghibli in general, except for their more recent film, "The Secret World of Arrietty." I thought that with the English dub (like most e-dubs), you lost a good 15-20% of the experience. At the end I was like...

szfzafa
I love Cats Teturn. Our heroine is so cute when turned into a cat-girl, but of that kind of cuteness of those stupid Nyannyan cat.
sail0remily
Agreed I've always loved Ghibli films as they are so much more detailed than American films and they weren't what originally got me into anime but they definitely pushed me further into otaku culture (okay that sounded lame ahah). xist
I thought that with the English dub (like most e-dubs), you lost a good 15-20% of the experience.Massive disagreement here....i spent forever getting the original English dub of Laputa Castle in the Sky (the 86 Steamline one, not the much later Van Der Beek one) and for me the dub only adds to the experience. Xanodus
The main reason I love movies produced by Studio Ghibli is the fact that you can tell how myuch effort and time it has taken to put together the movies. I really loved Ponyo and SpiriteD AwaY, and Arrietty was quite enjoyable too~It's just the fact that Studio Ghibli creates fantastic films that makes me want to watch each one they produce. michlconk
The first Ghibli film I saw was "Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind" when it came to the US in the 1980s. Back when they edited it to death. Rented on a VHS. Now I own the correct version, which is a whole lot better than the 1980s version, with almost all the other films on DVD/Blu-Ray. Yoko
Completely agree with you. I watch Studio Ghibli films when I was young. I always loved them and they are what started me into really loving anime.
