Fingerless gloves

Sorry if this thread doesnt really have any value, but I decided to rant about something that really grinds my gears. Fingerless gloves. WHY!!!!!!! Gloves are for keeping your fingers warm, and fingerless gloves dont even do that. Also, the new variety dont even help you look edgy and gothic, they are made of rubber and are bright colors!!!! So, post about fingerless gloves, and this thread was worth it if I find at least one other person that is bothered when they see someone wearing these things.

I think its a bit of having protection on your hands ((or in that images case Style)) mostly police/Swat/Military wear them since they keep your hands from getting scuffed up while at the same time being able to feel your fingertips for if your typing on a computer so you don't hit the wrong key's. a basic idea.

But mostly I think its for style.

I personally have a pair for when I'm on a motorcycle or something

although I'm probably thinking of Leather Fingerless Gloves xD

Gloves serve many purposes. Leather is meant to protect your hands, and keep them from slipping. Cloth is mainly to keep them warm.. Mesh is meant to.... Actually, what is mesh for? I don't get it. Maybe it's supposed to be sexy.

I was in the army and they where a must have for rifles and other weapon's. When you have to dive to the ground the gloves would protect your or most of your hand while you could still feel the trigger of the weapon to feel the trigger point (first trigger point single shot, 2nd burst shot)

Some people think they're cool and stylish. The gloves which I use while riding my bike are fingerless. I think they're good for dexterity, while protecting your palms. My gloves haves protected my palms a lot of times when I had a fall.

I don't wear them anymore, but when I did, it was because they looked cool on me. They're nothing more than a fashion accessory most of the time.

I think these are pretty cool. Not for myself, but I like when women wear these types of things. I think it's kind of sexy lol

Seen a few guys wear them at the gym to protect their hands from getting blisters.

they keep your palms warm but your fingers stay nimble. They're great for yard work-especially using a hose as there are no fingers on them to get wet!

I'm not bothered by fingerless gloves, but why they are fingerless is so people who do a specific task that need to feel their way around can do so without the tips of the gloves making it complicated.

like weight lifting so you don't chafe your palms, or handling guns, and UFC fighters use em to keep control of their hands.

Ah well thats a different story, to me they are a pointless fashion acessory

Gloves are among some of my most favorite things in the world, right next to bleach (the cleaner). They are a must have for keeping your fingerprints off of things you don't want them to be found on.

I keep two pairs in the car at all times. The second pair is useful in case the first pair get....dirty.

Yup, like people have said, jobs where you need your finger tips to work. When i go out shooting in the winter (photography, not rifles) i have gloves that are both fingerless, but have the flap so the can be mittens. Best of both worlds, although they do look a tad homeless like. Those pictured are no more that a bit of pointless fashion, which describes quite a bit of fashion if you ask me. Practicality > Fashion any day, you don't know when the zombie apocalypse is gonna hit!
