Weeddragon
*ATTENTION* Alright the Title was mainly a hook and now that i have your attention i would like to state how i am ranting here! *ATTENTION*Alright this Anime series "Blue Exorcist" seems to getting Real popular REAL fast. This is a disgust to me honestly, i read the manga and it was decent, i am still reading it honestly just because i like to know how things end. When i first heard about this story, I was really interested in how it sounded, i mean who doesn't like a Son of Satan Story, but while reading it i started the anime...and along with the manga their were several problems...1. Why is almost every fucking character so awkward and have terrible dialogue and development of character? Now Yukio's the only one who i actually kind of like but still its ridiculous how a girl changes from a kimino into a short skirt and all the male characters act like they are 12 and they never saw a girls legs before. It's just dumb and its not funny. 2. Why is Rin....the only formidable "good guy" character in this show...? I mean even Yukio and That chick whose name escapes me because I'm ranting said when he fought Amaimon that they didn't really stand a chance against him...and those 5 other stupid characters follow Rin around all the time yet they can't do ANYTHING...why...why focus so much on the main character that almost all the other characters seem pathetic! 3. Why are the anime companies so lazy that they just use the same motions to do certain scenes....WHY!!! espically with a 25 episode Anime....is it THAT hard4. The ending didn't follow the manga...Well that should be an obvious reason why it sucksAnyway! Tell me what you think....and if you disagree I'll probably Argue, be prepared you were warned lol
ZeroPenguins
Well no surprises there, of course most of the time animes don't live up to manga expectations. So whoever read the manga is gonna be disappointed. That's how I notices things. Of course there were some exceptions like Code Geass, where the anime was actually better than the manga. Also if you're wondering, I haven't read the manga or watched any of the anime.
lemmingllama
It got popular as well because nothing else really good came out at the same time. So everyone watched it. And its the first season, so they are going to try to cut corners since it hasnt made too much money yet. Thats why they cant afford to make other characters have big fight scenes and they have to recycle animation.
allnall93
One A LOT of animes do the whole guys freak out when a girl wears a skirt... i think its funny personally... two rin isnt the only formidable good guy... maybe not against satan himself but against others yukio, snake chick, and the blonde sword dude (their names escape me as well) are all formidable

It's pretty common in a lot of animes sort of like fanservice I guess.2.Amaimon is a DEMON PRINCE he would obviously be stronger than Yukio and Shura besides Arthur the Paladin couldn't even take Amaimon on...3.Give me an example please because i didn't see any scenes/animations/motions reused4.There was no ending...they finished the series with a 'filler' in a way that they can start the second season. Hōtarō
I never watched the animu because I just can't be assed, but from what I've read, every series does that. I had to look at your favorite animus, and had a chuckle to myself, as you have multiple series that do exactly what you're complaining about (and worse).Besides, if you don't like it, don't watch it or have anything to do with it. FatelessDreamer
Blue Exorcist is awesome it just pisses me off when they don't stick to the manga like full metal alchemist. But if they did stick to it it would be far better just like FMA brotherhood
† Ferocia Coutura
I only can think of two anime series that almost 100% follow the manga and they are Death Note and FMA Brotherhood. Other than that, it is actually VERY common for anime to veer off from the manga. More often than not, it will do this.

Other than that, it is actually VERY common for anime to veer off from the manga. More often than not, it will do this.Death Note did not follow the manga from what I've been told.Anyhow Blue Exorcist followed it pretty well. Problem is they started the anime a year or two too early. So now they're going to have to wait a while for enough material to justify more seasons. They ended it nicely though for a 2-cour season. Leaving it open after a filler arc so they can easily make a second season that follows the manga.
Hōtarō
Death Note did not follow the manga from what I've been told.It didn't. I can't point out any of the obvious flaws since I haven't read or watched it in years, but no, it really didn't follow the manga.

Sorry it really does.I would love some adaptations to be faithful, but I just never expect it. Sheepdog
One Piece 99% complete copy of the manga apart from the fillers. And One Piece is 99% awesome apart from the fillers...I am really fed up of shallow animes and Blue Exorcist/Ao no exorcist sadly qualifies as one although it is far from being the worst. Weeddragon
It got popular as well because nothing else really good came out at the same time. So everyone watched it. And its the first season, so they are going to try to cut corners since it hasnt made too much money yet. Thats why they cant afford to make other characters have big fight scenes and they have to recycle animation.Actually the show isn't season based....It literally Ended with 2 seasonsOne A LOT of animes do the whole guys freak out when a girl wears a skirt... i think its funny personally... two rin isnt the only formidable good guy... maybe not against satan himself but against others yukio, snake chick, and the blonde sword dude (their names escape me as well) are all formidableOh yea I can agree Alot of Animes have that freak out....but its usually when like someone is naked or in a Bikini....not....a mini skirt....and Sleeved shirts....Hell they Freaked out more with her than Short shorts and Bikini Snake Lame out....And yes i understand what you mean, But Think Yukio and Both Snake Lady said that They couldn't ever Hope to take Amainmon on and yet Rin was Kicking His ass....And the Blonde Guy is A paladin....And very Shady so i dont trust him as a good guy entirely yet....Asking an adaptation for complete faithfulness, makes you a dick. Sorry it really does.I never asked it to follow the Manga Perfectly....Hell NO anime does it Perfectly, Not Even Kai which was the main purpose of it...But to end with a filler Arc is just retarded1. It's pretty common in a lot of animes sort of like fanservice I guess.2.Amaimon is a DEMON PRINCE he would obviously be stronger than Yukio and Shura besides Arthur the Paladin couldn't even take Amaimon on...3.Give me an example please because i didn't see any scenes/animations/motions reused4.There was no ending...they finished the series with a 'filler' in a way that they can start the second season.1. Yes i know all Animes do that but look at the Degree this was made, they freaked out less when Shura Revealed herself than when They saw Sheimie in a Mini Skirt And A T-shirt....Her knees down were exposed....does that make Everyone in the class go "oooooohhhhhhhhh me so Horny" But when Shura comes with her 2 sizes too small Bikini and and the shortest Jean Shorts That could ever be imagined and their like "Oh! Your A Woman! Oh ok"....And that was just 3 of them!2. Yes but If Rin is SOOOOOOO much more powerful than they are not Formidable....They are just better than Average and everyone else besides them .....suck....3. episode 16 when he fought Amaimon And he Pulled out his Sword and then i believe the Filler Episode 18 or 19 When He was trying save The bald one from some Darkness demon....he pulled out his sword with the same Animation....Theres more i just dont have enough care to list them all4. Ok Theres That, you got me But still the Anime was Fucked Because they started way too early
Manifesto
Rin is the son of Satan, besides he can't even control his power completely if at all, so I wouldn't say he is that much stronger, its mostly because of his demonic blood. zolockit
I would love some adaptations to be faithful, but I just never expect it. And I think alot of people would enjoy more faithfulness in animesYou really don't want me to reply to that. :XOne Piece 99% complete copy of the manga apart from the fillers. After Kouta Hirano, I'm pretty much OP's second biggest fan. Anime leaves out some stuff (doesn't matter too much), but yes it's very faithful. But nevertheless the new direction is terrible, TOO faithful. Adapting one chapter as one entire episode is overkill (and animation wise it doesn't look as good as when the second director was in charge). If one reads the manga, it's very difficult to watch the new director's work, without getting some real good distance between when the source material was read and when the adaptation is watched. Nero D. Ace
okay, i just noticed this thread so i'll just throw some stuff I've picked up over the years out there -A) Anime are "teasers" for the full manga. That is why the companies will almost never completely follow the manga, to give people a reason to buy the full fledged multi-volume manga. Exceptions include Code Geass, which was an anime first and then got a manga adaptation and FMAB, which was just too damn popular and honestly, the show ended the same time the manga did, so no loss. Re-using scenes isn't a sin, specially when you take into account that these guys are working their asses off all week, week after week to -1) Make 20 minutes of decent footage.2) Add the lip-movements properly.3) Have the voice actors come in and do their job.4) Get to work on the next anime their studio's been tasked with.If they don't get their quote met on time, they WILL re-use scenes or risk getting their show cancelled because they weren't able to air on time.C) If you're watching an anime, then 90% of the time, you better be prepared for a crappy ending. Hell, one of my favorite anime to date - Air Gear is something that I saw the anime first and then they just ended it. BAM! 26 episodes, that's all you get. Nothing you can do except polish your reading skills and read the continuously regenerating manga chapters on MangaFox.In short, I liked the story of Ao no Exorcist. I really did. Because apart from everything else I was seeing, I saw unique animation and a chance for a good tale, something I haven't seen too often because most people wanna play it safe. Not liking the anime and not liking the story are too very different things so I'll just let everyone who doesn't know it yet know - read the friggin manga!
