idl12
Ichiban ushiro no Daimaou, at first I thought, just another generic ecchi series, to some extent it was, but it was also so much more as well, it's now one of my favorite Ecchi series. mrheihachi
I have to say Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood. (Bear with me )I didn't know how different the original was from the manga and I didn't understand why they were remaking what in my mind was already a great series. Plus the first few episodes seemed ridiculously similar in both series. Now that I have had a chance to see the differences I am amazed and I love both series in their own way. So it definitely went against my initial impression.

Byakuya_Boy
One Piece, the summary kind of made it seem boring but watching the series made me realise how awesome it truly is. Fairy Tail, the same scenario as One Piece and finally Gintama, at first I was like WTH Edo with bikes and technology but watching the show made me realise I was wrong. Avith
I gotta say Air Gear. Some friends of mine kept telling me about it when they discovered it. I asked what's it about, and it sounded very stupid to me. I then decided to read a description, and still didn't seem interesting, so I just decided not to watch. A few years later (in mid 2010 I think) I decided to try it anyways. To this day it is one of my top favorite animes still.
