Avith
Growing up watching DragonballZ, I always thought it would be awesome to be like Goku. I soon took an interest in martial arts, which is a huge part of my life. So thank you creators of DBZ! Anime is very interesting and entertaining, but . . . yeah . . . probably could have spent my time doing other things that would help me down the road. Overall and so far, I'd say it's well worth it. Thank you, Japan!
DrumRoll
anime, for me, has made watching actual normal TV unbearably dull.Where's the action, crazy characters and gravity defying breasts?Normal TV is so depressing.

Frosty Jack
I've always wanted to be a teacher, but after not getting the degree I wanted I didn't have the grades that the course I wanted to apply for wanted. I watched GTO and was inspired by the determination Ekichi showed to follow his dream and become the greatest teacher ever. I thought if a cartoon former gang member can do it, then so can I. As we speak I am ( fingers crossed) a month away from being a qualified teacher
Jikochuu
I guess it's the best way I've found to escape from the real life ! When everything is going to fast for me, when I feel like I dun have the controle... well, when I feel like I'm a simple human being, I like to watch animes. I just forget everything around me and focus on what is happening in front of me...It's just for few minutes but I feel so refreshed after that ! It's a good feeling for me, it has always been ! ^^

Kasoivc
Rofl, From how anime has influenced me; I know what Otakus are talking about - and I know what people to avoid when they're really into it. I don't mind casual anime chat but there some people out there who make it their lives... and its disturbing because it's like they've become absorbed into the fictitious world. I'm not against people dressing up and acting our their favorite scenarios of dungeons and dragons but when people become obnoxious about is when I need to put on my boots and slap some reality back into them.Overall, I think it's great that people support anime - it's one of the few things that Japan gave the world other than silks (pre-modern age) and the obvious plethora of GOD-LIKE RPGs.----Also, DrumRoll speaks millenniums of truth. I can tell you within this past year (all of 2011 so far) that I have not watched more than 24 hours of normal television this year (and to think the new year ball dropped like five months ago). Purely movies, anime, and video games - all asides from work and school.
†RazorDan
Drumroll made a great point. Cuz of anime, I barely watch 'normal tv'. Also anime is to thank for me discovering this site. It hasn't really influenced my life in other ways. I mean, I still play loads of sport, go out with friends etc. The only major difference is that instead of reading in my 'slot' ( which is typically 10pm-1am schooldays and 12-3/4am on holidays) I now watch anime

AlexitaSan
The greatest one of 'em all is definitely the fact that everybody started calling me SUZUMIYA... o.O They even forgot my real name (not too hard to do it,since it has freakin' 12 letters... -.- )
Tommy071095
Anime has lead to my fascination with Japan, which in turn has made me a more liberal person.I also think it has allowed me to adapt a more abstract outlook on life.
manavzx
Naruto helped me realize that no dream is too big or great to be true, yyou just have to believe in yourself. Bleach taught me how to stand up to my word no matter what and Air Gear made realize that with lots of practice, hard work and a bit of luck you can accomplish anything.
