[Anime] Looking For A Fantasy; Adventure; Romance

Ok I'm looking for a fantasy, adventure with romance. I am looking for something that has great plot and character development. It needs to be more on the serious side. Not something like Bleach or Naruto where stupid stuff/things meant to be funny? is added in to the middle of most of the fight scenes (I don't want/like things like that). Don't care about length of show but would perfer something finished already. And don't care if it's only in sub or not.

Claymore, Blue Gender ... well, off the top of my head anyway. I personally thought those shows could have been better, and I didn't care for Blue Gender's ending, but they're alright shows.

Thanks for the recommendations, I have seen Claymore though and liked it quite a bit. I read a description for Blue Gender and it sounds good so I'll definitely go check it out.

I agree with Hicks. Blue Gender is a great anime, it has good action, is set up as an adventure and a fantasy at the same time, and there is a huge romance between two of the characters. I would suggest this from my personal list... or, Gundam SEED, which has a good romance between characters....

Check out Scrapped Princess. I think it will have all the qualities you are looking for. I really enjoyed it for its story as well, since even though it is a fantasy, there are a few plot twists that set it apart.

Blue Gender, Earl and Fairy (Sub) Claymore, ..... That's about all I can think of.

I would recommend The Tower of Druaga: The Aegis of Uruk / The Sword of Uruk.
