[Anime] Watch Berserk!

Hey guys, I'm new here.

Just want to recommend my all-time favorite (sp?) anime: Berserk. Any of you guys know it? Basically, it's a dark-fantasy medieval kind of anime. Plenty of gore though, so stay away if you're into the PG13-ish anime only. Also, I can recommend the manga.

The manga is still going strong (+20 years), but the anime only lasted a season or two, so if you want the ending, you're gonna have to read the manga (and stick around for a decade or two more, haha).

Must see IMO. What do you guys think?

I really love Berserk... but the manga... each chapter takes months to be published :S I have already waited for too long for the ending of Berserk!! I can't wait anymoreee, but I guess I need to have more patience since this serie is great.

Berserk is by far one of my favorite animes and I agree with your recommendation to others about this show.

Same here, but a quick look at the synopsis told me it's going to be for my wife and me, not the kids.

Does it leave off with a story line not wrapped up? I know I can always get the manga, but . . .

I have watched berserk and i must say in my opinion berserk is probably the best anime series that i have ever seen. Yeah its a bit old now so the animation isn't as tidy as some of the present day animes but it is by no means shabby. But this series has the plot, the battles, the violence, the brutality, the betrayals, the politics, romances and elements of comedy. The characters in berserk are very believable and by the end you can't help but feel for them. It also has one of the best bad guys i have ever seen you can't help but hate/pity him. Its only a shame that at the time the show was to expensive to produce (or so i have heard) and didn't continue past the first arc of the manga so technically its unfinished leaving you with a slightly sour taste in your mouth. However Berserk is a must for any anime fan.

Hmm Yes I've heard this before now but it always seems to amount to nothing I'm afraid. But keep your fingers crossed.

One of my all time favorite anime ever. So great and dark, and even romantic, every thing I love. And the rumors of a new one are true, they are remaking it into a movie series, and i cant wait to watch them, from what I have read and been told, there will be mostly drawn art and some CG during fight's such as the one with Zod.
