Haunted Eyes

I look into your picture and all I can see,

Is Haunted Eyes looking back at me.

Wondering what made you this way,

Even to this very day.

You look so sad,

Were you treated bad?

I tell you that my love knows no bounds,

Yet you ask me why I'm not around.

I hold you closer to me,

In the hope you will just let it be.

You tell me how we will wed,

I move back leaving things unsaid.

You look at me with dread,

As I fled.

I sit and cry,

You come to me wondering why.

I look once again into your eyes,

Knowing I cannot tell lies.

I say slightly through my cries,

Why such Haunted Eyes?
