† Emotional Outlet
What, cottage pie is great and easy. It is shepherd's pie but with beef instead of lamb. Mix of meat and vegetables baked with a mashed potato topping. Tomorrow we're probably going to have spaghetti or some other pasta with ground beef. Dark_Angel13
Ohhh okay, well then it doesnt sound so bad now lol
† Emotional Outlet
It's a good leftover dish. I think it actually started out as a leftover dish?? But yeah, if you've got leftover meat and mashed potatoes, it's super good.
Dark_Angel13
I don't usually like pies but maybe a good idea, will try and find a recipe maybe
† Emotional Outlet
You don't really need a recipe, haha. Just get some leftover meat (ground, minced, whatever), throw in some vegetables (onions, carrots, green beans, peas, whatever as long as it's chopped up/little). Add some broth and flour to tie it together and mix up the whole thing. Throw it in a baking dish, top it with some mashed potatoes, and stick it in the oven. Forty minutes later you have a delicious meal. You can also broil it for a bit to brown the mashed potatoes if you're into that. My cooking is a lot more cavalier than my baking. Which probably explains why my meals have a 75% success rate, haha. At least with my baking it might be ugly but it is almost always delicious. Dark_Angel13
Hmm... I'll let you know how it turns out next time I have leftover stuff. Although I don't like leftovers for the most part, I tend to try and not have them because I barely ever eat it
† Anras Rune
I had fusili with tomato and basil again, because I broke the container on the pine nuts I'd bought to make fresh pesto, and they spilled everywhere. Heck, I'm still finding them in places...
† Emotional Outlet
I hate leftovers too, but we're poor, haha. Eating the same meal twice in a row is so depressing. Unless it is sushi. I would eat sushi every night if I were rich. Aw ye. I spilt some peas earlier when I was making dinner. There is probably a bunch of them under the fridge. Do people clean actually under their fridges because I've never looked under there. There could be a portal to another dimension and I'd never know. Dark_Angel13
I try not to let stuff get under my fridge but I know there's a two dollar coin under there somewhere lol. So if i ever need 2 bucks badly I can always just move the fridge haha. I do eat leftovers, I just try not to cook enough to have them
† Emotional Outlet
Ha, Java always cooks like he's cooking for thirty people. He makes fun because he thinks my portions are always too small. It's especially bad with pasta because he just makes the whole box. We have a scale now because I needed it for baking, so I'm trying to prod him into using it for everyday cooking as well.
Dark_Angel13
That's a good idea lol, especially since cooking for 30 people lol isnt always the best thing when leftovers just go to waste in the end because there's too much of it to eat
† Anras Rune
Leftovers are the best thing ever. I only eat them as breakfast or lunch the next day, but if it is left over mince then I'm all up in its face making it into spaghetti omlettes or meat pies (of the pastry variation). I don't really leave much else as left overs. Maybe pizza. And the underneath of my fridge is a hellish landscape of god knows what
Dark_Angel13
haha, I eat pizza cold majority of the time lol. Although I can never eat a full pizza by myself in one sitting, I always feel sick after 2 pieces for some reason
J-Lord
Leftovers are ok, when I have leftovers like Anras said they are usually my breakfast or lunch the next day, or if I am really low on food they become dinner. Best Leftovers I have are usually sausages, burgers (Usually stuff from a BBQ) and or Pizza!
† Emotional Outlet
I had a smushed up sweet potato and a microwaved cake. I am so lazy. Food is hard.
Dark_Angel13
Food is hard, I just ovenbaked two chicken steaks, smothered them with chicken salt and ate them lol
† Emotional Outlet
75% of the time when I cook, I am putting random stuff together, so almost everything I make ends up being variations of the same thing. I am never going to be an Iron Chef.Tomorrow I am going to make an upside down pizza. Unless something happens, like I catch fire. I was going to make it tonight, but I got lazy. Late start at the library today made me sluggish.
Dark_Angel13
Ah k well if you catch fire remember drop and roll . I'm no chef either, my meals are simple but nice, I think the most I cook is like a baked dinner with all that stuff which is basically just stick it in the oven and wait. My oven gets used a lot, more then my microwave surprisingly lol
† Emotional Outlet
Almost all my food ends up getting pan fried. Maybe I should bake food more. It would be easier and I'd probably die later than sooner.
Dark_Angel13
Well baking it is healthier, it doesn't need additional oil or anything
