once a few months ago i got a download speed of 1gbps, I fell out of my chair it shocked me so much (there was a glitch with my provider it lasted for about an hour) but i was like SWEET!!! ^.^

Wow that is awesome, I wish I had faster internet. it takes a long while for me to download anything at my residence. I have to use it in the morning because throughout the day they're are more computer running and it slows down a ton. At night it stays around 120 kbs

My fastest was - http://www.speedtest.net/result/1391956039.png

My Average is anywhere from - http://www.speedtest.net/result/1624204134.png to here - http://www.speedtest.net/result/1624201566.png

My Slowest was probably 300kb/s but possibly because of the file host I was downloading from..

Most likely the slower speed was the file host. Also, those Mb/s and such on the speedtest are incorrect. They are actually MBPS.

For the first image is a max of 7.17500 MB/s download and 0.73 MB/s upload. The second is 3.79375 MB/s download and 0.79375 MB/s upload. The last is 4.08875 MB/s download and 0.7275 MB/s. These are all approximations and not precise.

Are you sure because this is my maximum and these are about right for what my provider says I should be getting:

This is what I usually get though:

EDIT

Actually you're right. I just noticed it was Megabits instead of Megabytes, silly me =).

[Please measure data transfer in Mb/s and data storage in MB. A mb/s is a milibit per second, Mbitps is megabit picosecond. Sankyuu...]

The average around here is 25Mbps, but 100Mbps is finally available in some places. I have seen such speeds sustained. It's very nice, and not really expensive, especially if one were to split the expense between roommates or colleagues. However, >1Mb/s upload speeds remain extremely expensive (but also come with static IPs, and access to ports, etc.)
